JOB SUMMARY
• Provide expert leadership to ensure a safe and secure operating environment for staff and customers across SCB Taiwan.
• This includes implementing effective access controls, CCTV, alarm system, managing security risks and threats, ensuring compliance with Group policies and local regulatory requirements, and driving cost effective security solutions.
• The role also requires close coordination with relevant department, law-enforcement and regulatory authorities to support uninterrupted banking operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Develop and implement security policies, strategies, and standards for Taiwan, including incident response frameworks.
Business
• To Service SCB Taiwan all premises, branches, staffs and clients to provide a security and safety environment and protect SCB assets.
Processes
• Conduct regular security reviews of all premises to ensure compliance with Regulation, Group Security Policy and the Manual of Personal and Business Protection.
• Perform periodic country‑level security risk assessments to identify any violation, emerging threats and recommend cost‑effective, risk‑appropriate countermeasures.
People & Talent
• Lead security-related communications and staff training programs to enhance awareness and preparedness.
• Oversee and provide technical expertise for electronic counter‑surveillance measures.
• Liaise closely with enforcement agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and minimise operational disruption.
• Monitor and manage contractor and security guard performance to ensure effective protection of bank premises.
Risk Management
• Perform periodic country‑level security risk assessments to identify any violation, emerging threats and recommend cost‑effective, risk‑appropriate countermeasures.
• Execute Security KCSAs in accordance with policy requirements to document compliance.
• Provide guidance and support to SCB Taiwan operations during special events, crises, or heightened security situations.
Governance
• Oversee security design requirements for new premises construction, including reviewing architectural plans, ensuring integration of Group security standards, recommending protective measures, and coordinating with CRES teams and contractors to ensure secure, compliant, and operationally efficient facility design.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
• Regulations Governing the Security Maintenance and Administration of Financial Institutions
