Job Summary

Engineer (AI/GenAI Projects)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize the data ecosystems that power AI and GenAI applications. This role requires deep expertise in data architecture, scalable pipelines, cloud-native engineering, and the ability to collaborate closely with ML engineers, full-stack developers, and product teams. You will shape the data foundation enabling retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), feature stores, vector search, analytics, and production-grade AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities
•    Architect and implement scalable data pipelines for structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, supporting both analytics and AI workloads.
•    Lead the design of data models, schemas, and storage layers across SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and vector databases.
•    Build and optimize ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows using tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark, Flink, Dremio, Trino, or cloud-native alternatives.
•    Collaborate with ML/LLM engineers to enable efficient feature extraction, embedding generation, RAG pipelines, and real-time data services.
•    Develop APIs, metadata systems, and data access layers to support downstream AI applications and multi-agent systems.
•    Ensure reliability, performance, observability, and cost optimization across the data platform.
•    Establish data engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, versioning, and governance controls.
•    Implement and enforce data quality, lineage, and security frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.
•    Mentor junior engineers, provide architectural guidance, and contribute to platform-level design decisions.

Preferred Attributes
•    Experience in high-compliance industries (finance, healthcare, or public sector).
•    Knowledge of feature stores, streaming architectures, or event-driven data systems for real-time AI.
•    Exposure to LLMOps architectures, agent frameworks, and AI-native metadata systems.
•    Strong analytical skills, leadership capability, and ability to work cross-functionally with platform and product teams.

•    Responsible for developing some business-oriented Machine Learning models

•    The ability to interpret the Machine Learning models, identify key issues and put in place appropriate model controls and measures.

•    Identify key Responsible AI related to the models developed

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
•    6+ years of experience in data engineering, with proven delivery of production-grade data systems.
•    Strong proficiency in Python/Java/Scala and SQL, with hands-on experience in building large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
•    Deep expertise with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed processing frameworks (Databricks/Spark/Flink).
•    Experience with modern data stack components (Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Delta Lake/Iceberg).
•    Familiarity with vector stores (e.g., Elastic, Faiss, Chroma), embeddings, and data architectures for RAG/LLM applications.
•    Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and DevOps/CI/CD concepts (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
•    Knowledge of data governance, privacy, access control, and lineage tooling (Unity Catalog, Collibra).
