Job Summary

This role supports the Markets Product Owner to deliver and embed Operational Resilience across CIB Markets, in line with global regulatory expectations. The role operates within an agile model and spans Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Management, and Crisis Management, with a strong focus on first line risk ownership and consistent global implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Resilience Delivery
•    Support the Markets Product Owner in implementing and maintaining Operational Resilience requirements, policies, and standards set by the Group Resilience team.
•    Coordinate and participate in Markets Operational Resilience squads to meet regulatory milestones, including identifying vulnerabilities, setting impact tolerances, prioritising remediation, scenario testing, and self assessment.
•    Provide input into the design and implementation of the Markets Resilience Target Operating Model.
Governance, Risk & Reporting
•    Support escalation and reporting of Operational Resilience risks, vulnerabilities, and treatment actions to business NFRCs and senior governance forums.
•    Support prioritisation of critical resilience vulnerabilities and dependencies through the relevant QPR processes.
•    Assist with regular risk reporting and monitoring to ensure ongoing oversight and transparency.
Stakeholder & Capability Enablement
•    Work closely with Markets business stakeholders across countries to ensure risks to important and critical business services are consistently identified and assessed.
•    Support Product Owners in reviewing and challenging business proposed Important/Critical Business Services and Impact Tolerance thresholds.
•    Leverage Group Resilience expertise to share best practices, lessons learned, and capability enhancements across Markets.
Implementation & Change
•    Support implementation of controls to maintain, review, and update Important/Critical Business Services and Impact Tolerances as part of business change.
•    Participate in workshops, exercises, and scenario testing to assess resilience of key operational assets (e.g. IT, data, third parties, people, property).
•    Support delivery of resilience initiatives including Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and rollout of strategic platforms such as Fusion.
Response & Recovery Preparedness
•    Support the development and maintenance of response, recovery, and crisis management plans, playbooks, and runbooks for Financial Markets.
•    Coordinate and support crisis simulation exercises within Markets and the wider CIB Crisis Management framework.
•    Assist in embedding preparedness for severe but plausible events such as market stress, natural disasters, cyber events, and geopolitical or election related disruptions.

The Ideal Candidate:

•    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
•    8–10 years’ experience in Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, or related risk disciplines.
•    Strong understanding of global operational resilience regulatory expectations and governance frameworks.
•    Proven ability to work across complex stakeholder groups in a matrixed environment.
•    Strong analytical, project management, and problem solving skills.
•    Sound judgement with a proactive and outcomes focused mindset.
•    Broad understanding of CIB Markets business; experience with third party risk or critical systems is an advantage.
