SCSK (Standard Chartered Securities Korea) is looking for a director to join the M&A Advisory team in Seoul. This is a unique opportunity for experienced professional to play a critical leadership role in the execution and origination of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic corporate finance transactions. As a senior member of the deal team, the director is responsible for managing day-to-day transaction processes, overseeing complex financial analysis, coordinating due diligence, preparing client-facing materials, and ensuring seamless communication across internal teams, clients, and counterparties. The director also contributes to business development efforts by supporting senior bankers in identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, and producing pitch materials.

 

This role requires strong financial and strategic acumen, deep transaction experience, and the ability to lead junior team members effectively in high-pressure, deal-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of complex domestic and cross-border M&A transaction, including buy-side and sell-side advisory, divestures, carve-outs, and restructuring
  • Oversee the development, review, and quality control of advanced financial models and valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions, and LBO analyses 
  • Manage the end-to-end due diligence process, coordinating effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure seamless transaction progress
  • Supervise the preparation and review of all transaction-related materials, including Confidential Information Memorandums, management presentations, investor materials, and internal approval and committee documentation
  • Provide analytical and strategic support to senior bankers in origination and business development efforts, including the preparation of high-quality pitch books, client materials, and sector-driven thematic analysis
  • Serve as a key point of contact for client working teams on execution matters, exercising sound judgement in managing timelines, priorities, and adherence to firm standards
  • Manage and develop Associates and Associate Directors by providing day-to-day guidance, review and feedback to ensure high-quality execution and professional development
  • Collaborate closely with global industry and regional teams to leverage firm-wide expertise, ensure consistency with global best practices, and support cross-border transactions

Skills and Experience

  • Experience executing complex cross-border M&A transactions with a global investment banking platform
  • Strong ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality, client-ready outputs under tight deadlines
  • Prior exposure to financial sponsor transactions and advanced valuation and financial modeling techniques
  • Experience with complex transaction structures, such as carve-outs, minority investments, or multi-track sale processes
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with global industry and product teams across regions

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in investment banking or M&A advisory
  • Track record of successful M&A transaction execution
  • Fluency in Korean and English, with the ability to draft, review, and discuss transaction materials
  • Strong command of corporate finance, accounting principles, and valuation methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent transactions while leading high-performing junior teams in a demanding environment
