Key Responsibilities

 

  Strategy and Operational Leadership

    • Set the strategic direction and operating model for Securities Services Operations in Korea, and oversee the safe and efficient delivery of securities settlement, securities borrowing and lending, corporate actions, and custody services for foreign investors.

  Client Service and Business Enablement

    • Deliver high-quality operational services to domestic and international financial institutions and institutional investors, ensure timely resolution of client issues and exceptions, and partner with Business and Product teams to support new client onboarding and product implementation.

  Investor Registration and Regulatory Reporting

    • Oversee accurate and timely investor registration and regulatory reporting activities performed on behalf of foreign-investor clients.

  Process and Change Management

    • Manage end-to-end processes across local operations and hub teams, and improve service quality, productivity, cost efficiency and controls through standardisation, automation and continuous improvement.

  People and Talent

    • Build a high-performance culture, manage team performance and capability through clear objectives and effective supervision, and drive talent development, employee engagement and a strong succession pipeline.

  Risk, Control and Governance

    • Proactively identify and mitigate operational, regulatory and client risks, and ensure that operational incidents, client complaints, audit findings and regulatory issues are promptly escalated and resolved. Oversee compliance with Group policies, local laws, the Code of Conduct and service level agreements.

Stakeholder Management

    • Collaborate closely with Business, Product, Client Management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology and hub teams. Build and maintain effective relationships with regulators, exchanges, securities depositories, clearing houses, brokers and other market-infrastructure participants.

Qualifications

 

  Expertise and Experience

    • 15+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, securities services, derivatives or fund services, with deep knowledge of securities settlement, custody, securities borrowing and lending, corporate actions and related operational processes.

  Risk and Regulatory Knowledge

    • Strong understanding and practical experience of banking operations, operational risk management, internal controls, and relevant Korean laws and regulatory requirements.

  Leadership

    • Proven people leadership capability to lead a high-performing team with diverse backgrounds, strengthen organisational capability through effective supervision and talent development, and build a strong succession pipeline for sustainable business success.

  Decision-Making and Execution

    • Ability to analyse complex issues, set priorities, make timely and high-quality decisions, and execute transformation initiatives through to completion.

  Communication

    • Strong communication skills in Korean and English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior local and global stakeholders and external institutions.

Skills and Experience

 

  Securities Services Operations Experience

    • Experience in securities settlement, custody, securities borrowing and lending, corporate actions, foreign-investor registration or regulatory reporting.

  Service Delivery and Change Management

    • Experience managing service quality, productivity, cost and controls in a large operations environment, and leading process standardisation, automation and improvement initiatives.

  Governance and Risk Management

    • Experience in operational risk, regulatory compliance, audit management, governance and control frameworks.

  Market and Stakeholder Management

    • Experience working with key market stakeholders such as regulators, exchanges, securities depositories, clearing houses, brokers and global custodians.

  Global Collaboration

    • Experience delivering end-to-end operational outcomes through collaboration with Group, regional and offshore hub teams.
