Title: Associate Director, CIB Marketing China

Job Summary
Strategy
• Work with key business stakeholders to strategise, develop and execute marketing initiatives that helps to stand out the Bank’s position in the marketplace and drive marketing activities accordingly to fulfil business needs
• Assist in the overall management of the annual strategic marketing planning exercise in conjunction with the business to ensure key business deliverables are met.
Business
• Sound knowledge of the China market and a good understanding of the opportunities opening up for CIB clients
• Focus on the following areas of CIB business from strategy to marketing execution:
o CIB Products – TB & FM
o Greater Bay Area
o Initiatives such as RMB Internationalisation, Belt & Road, Sustainable Finance
• Event execution: organising seminars, conferences, client hospitality events approved in the marketing plan to the highest levels of professionalism, consistent with the differentiated experience per client segment on time and budget
• Position the Bank as a thought leader through strategic partnerships with media, key sponsorship platforms and business chambers etc
• Content creation – responsible for creating social media content and marketing material such as factsheets, brochure, infographics, and videos.
• Familiar with the digital marketing landscape in China (experience in managing and driving utilisation of WeChat etc) & Global social media such as LinkedIn
• Work with external marketing agencies to deliver marketing programmes in creative ways, and also ensure it aligns with the brand promise.
• Branding: advising and safeguarding the branding and educate business stakeholders to follow branding guidelines
• Manage the marketing finance reporting, procurement arrangement, liaison for operational matters, etc.
Risk Management
Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies (including anti-money laundering, sanction, anti-bribery & corruption and relevant FCC risks) and the Group Code of Conduct
Governance
• Accountability for the CIB Marketing budgets and scorecards for GCNA
• Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Bank by the regional CABM teams
• Maintain high awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the business operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
• Completion of all mandatory training needed including e-learning within stated timeframes to support the understanding of the roles for delivering effective governance
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
• CIB Segments and Product teams for marketing initiatives strategic direction and coordination
• CGM and CEO offices for marketing initiatives coordination
• Group Brand & Marketing for alignment of global strategy
• Corporate Affairs for media related event management, media interview with CIB/ GBA management to build brand and profile
• Global Sourcing for procurement advice on vendor engagement & employment of service
• Finance for bill payment and cost centre transactions
• Legal and Compliance for expert advice on marketing initiatives and clearance of marketing materials
• External Partners – Event Agency / Production house / Media Agency for expert advice on development of client engagement strategy and creative execution
• External Partners – Strategic Alliance for development & execution of joint marketing initiatives

Qualifications
• Languages: English & Mandarin
• Preferably to have experience of B2B marketing or professional services marketing
• Preferably to have at least 10 years of work experience, preferably in the financial services industry with a track record of implementing successfully marketing initiatives
• Comfortable in interfacing with external clients
• Superior influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Willing to travel
