Job Summary

To lead Affluent team’s data enablement strategy and bridge central data capabilities and Affluent team commercial needs. This role collaborates closely with the Data Analytics team to curate, transform, and deliver business ready data assets, self service tools, and actionable insights that directly drive revenue growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency within the Affluent team. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Define and own the data enablement roadmap for Affluent team, aligned with business growth priorities, customer journey improvements, and risk management objectives.
•    Partner with Data Analytics team to build Affluent segment‑specific data marts, aggregations, and derived datasets tailored to commercial use cases. Ensure Affluent‑specific data requirements are incorporated into the central warehouse roadmap.
•    Advocate for Affluent business needs in enterprise‑wide data governance forums, ensuring that data definitions, quality rules, and access policies reflect the segment’s unique requirements.
•    Benchmark Affluent data enablement practices against industry peers and emerging trends, recommending new data solutions to enable business teams and outcomes. 

Business
•    Act as the trusted data advisor to Affluent business leaders and front‑line teams, translating commercial needs into data requirements and delivering fit‑for‑purpose solutions (dashboards, reports, analytical models, alerts).
•    Collaborate with business stakeholders to drive measurable business outcomes and monitor key performance indicators for sales productivity, customer satisfaction, and portfolio health – ensuring data is accurate, timely, and actionable.
•    Empower frontline and head office teams with intuitive self‑service tools and personalised customer insights, enabling them to have more meaningful conversations and proactively address client needs.
•    Establish a continuous feedback loop with regular review of business impact from data solutions, and ongoing refinement based on user input.

Processes
•    Manage the end‑to‑end process of capturing Affluent business data requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and collaborating with the Data Analytics team for data extraction, transformation, and loading from the warehouse.

•    Design and maintain Affluent‑specific data models and aggregations (e.g., customer profitability, product holdings, risk scores) that serve as the foundation for reporting and analytics.
•    Build and maintain a catalogue of Affluent data assets, including definitions, lineage, and business glossaries, to ensure transparency and ease of discovery for business users.
•    Implement a streamlined request‑to‑delivery process for new data solutions, balancing speed with quality and governance.
•    Drive automation of routine reporting tasks, freeing up business analysts to focus on deeper insights and proactive advisory

People & Talent
•    Build strong working relationships with Affluent frontline and head office teams, Data Analytics team, and other relevant teams with joint roadmaps.
•    Identify skill gaps and invest in upskilling to keep the role agile and competitive.
•    Promote a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to experiment with new analytics techniques and propose innovative data‑driven initiatives.

Risk Management
•    Ensure all Affluent data products and tools comply with internal data governance policies, regulatory requirements and information security standards.
•    Understand, acknowledge and comply with the requirements on individual accountabilities and responsibilities of the job set out in applicable local laws and regulations as well as SCB internal policies
•    Effectively ensure and intensify internal controls by keeping abreast with developments of applicable local laws and regulations on accountabilities 
•    Perform job duties with diligence, contribute to efforts as an individual or as a team member so as to avoid any actual or potential legal sanctions, regulatory penalties, material financial loss, or adverse reputational impact on the Bank 
•    Be responsible for failure to follow relevant rules and processes, failure to properly perform the responsibilities, and implement corrections

•    Cooperate with any investigations or reviews on regulatory failure such as accountability review 

Governance
•    Properly perform the duties on management and ensure the effectiveness of internal control 
•    Be responsible for regulatory failure or risks arising from or in connection of the event over which the employee has the duties of management and/or leadership 
•    Be responsible for significant losses due to failure of effectiveness of internal control 
•    Ensure processes algin with the bank’s risk and control framework as well as relevant regulatory standards. Monitor the effectiveness of operational processes and proactively recommend enhancements to mitigate risks. 

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders
•    Develop and manage stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure smooth implementation of data solutions and data enablement initiatives. 

Other Responsibilities
•    Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in China Affluent Process & Risk Management; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats);

Qualifications

•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, Finance or a related field      
•    Certifications: Python
•    Languages: Proficiency in English and Chinese especially at writing skills
