Job Summary
Ensures that AML/CDD/Sanctions (Individual Business) risks relating to the country are effectively managed end to end in accordance with Group and local regulatory requirements.
Assures AML/CDD/Sanctions (Individual Business) risk management through oversight and testing of the related CSTs and ensures material risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, monitored and reported / escalated in accordance with the bank’s Risk Management Framework.
Drives/coordinates/monitors initiatives, projects and actions to ensure the Bank operates in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, Group/Country policies and standards, for the prevention of money laundering.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• China WRB Individual CDD team is a unit within the COO family for performing due diligence on Customer Due Diligence before approval.
• Individuals CDD team CDD analyst is responsible for client contact for existing to bank clients for completion of CDD activities. However, the team can assign or take support from Relationship Managers (RMs) for completion of CDD activities / related requirements for priority clients
Business
• Support China WRB individual business team, including Emerging Affluent and Priority Banking, lending and Digital partnership. Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
Processes
Perform account Opening KYC/CDD for high risk rating clients and ETB clients’ Periodic/Trigger Review.
• Unless advised otherwise by the client’s RM, who will contact the client and arrange documents on behalf of the Individual CDD Team, The Individual CDD analyst’s role is to:
• Initiate Client contact (for RM managed accounts, RM can perform the client contact on behalf of the Individual CDD team for document collection)
• Complete CDD related documentation and ensure completeness of CDD information for ETB and NTB clients before submission to the IQC team who will check the quality of the CDD information before approval
• Ensure that the information and document retained as part of CDD can be retained in a manner that meets legal and regulatory requirement as well as CDD Procedures.
• Responsible for implementation and continued compliance with relevant laws and regulations (including changing AML related regulations), policies, procedures and risk control requirements through application of consistent group practices
• Directs and executes activity within Individual CDD team and optimize end to end overall Individual CDD related processes and practices
• Ensures alignment, maintenance and updating of relevant systems as required to achieve required operational and regulatory outcomes
• Trains and provides business process and operational expertise and guidance to in-country teams in relation to understanding end to end the related processes and their connectivity to Individual CDD policy and procedure standards that impact their day-to-day business activities
• Works closely with project teams/stakeholders to drive projects/initiatives related to the Individual CDD space to ensure successful and timely delivery
• Assures Individual CDD risk management through testing of the related CSTs ensures compilation, review and distribution of M.I, reports and escalates exceptions and tracks to closure
• Partners and actively collaborates with all relevant stakeholders across the Individual CDD functional and advisory space to build robust and sustainable operational and execution excellence
• Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by line managers
Risk Management
Fully understand the importance of risk prevention, prevent anti-money laundering, sanction, anti-bribery & corruption and relevant FCC risks, maintain safe and steady operation of the position, implement regulatory requirements of risk prevention, strictly execute DOIs of the department, ensure to complete relevant trainings and embed risk prevention in daily Work.

• Adhere to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies (including anti-money laundry, sanction, anti-bribery & corruption and relevant FCC risks) and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Establish the appropriate control and assurance mechanism to comply with all internal and external standards and policies.

Qualifications
• EDUCATION: University graduate with Batchelor Degree
• CERTIFICATIONS: ACAMS Certification would be preferred
• LANGUAGES : Chinese, English
Skills and Experience
• At least 3 years’ experience and knowledge in Banking industry with AML Experience
• Good communication, interpersonal and organization skill
• Able to timely manage multiple tasks
• Must be certified (as prescribed for the role) by completing all relevant SCB e-assessments (once these are rolled out)
• Good at both spoken and written English and Chinese
• ACAMS Certification would be preferred
