Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Team lead role to deliver business revenue target and execute product agenda.
  • Jointly responsibility with TB Head for delivering the revenue and cost numbers.
  • Lead with revenue initiatives- repricing, sales campaigns, utilisation, RIWAC usage
  • Interpret and analyse product performance, analyse data, provide forecasts.
  • Product standard pricing and costing models; ‘say’ in any pricing deviations.
  • Initiatives to drive down costs, streamline operating processes and enhance revenue
  • Actively contribute to the overall business strategy; develop tactical plans to achieve our long-term vision and leadership

Business

  • Customise Group products to meet local requirements; ensure legal and compliance (both internal and external) issues are adhered to
  • Establish market reputation as experts; speak at conference, contribute articles, media interviews, organise roundtables etc
  • Promote internal culture of communication, recognition and teamwork.
  • As local product owner of assigned product, to comply with the roles and responsibilities stipulated from group product governance handbook, and “Product Approval and Governance Guide” approved by SCB China’s Risk Committee

Processes

  • Own all the Cash processes allocated in the Country as part of the Group’s process universe
  • Accountable to risk control owners and/or Group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them, ensuring compliance, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite
  • Responsible for management of the processes supporting the Cash business (in line with the Group’s process universe as set out in the Group Operational Risk Framework for the country) and associated risks including activities which are carried out by other businesses or functions or which are hubbed or outsourced
  • As local product owner of assigned product, to comply with the roles and responsibilities stipulated from group product governance handbook, and “Product Approval and Governance Guide” approved by SCB China’s Risk Committee
  • No failed audits

People & Talent

  • Responsible for recruiting and managing staff in Cash business in line with Target Operating Model
  • Provide effective leadership across Cash business to promote sustainable high quality business performance.
  • Act as the key end to end focal point for Cash performance, liaising as required with Coverage, FM, and ITO within country, and globally as appropriate.
  • Lead a top team capable of ensuring delivery of the Cash business’ short and longer-term objectives through:
  • Coaching, guidance, and management of the team to ensure they deliver against the financial, non-financial and risk/control objectives.
  • Identifying and addressing the top issues/opportunities for performance improvement across the team.
  • Driving an environment of collaboration, both within the team and across the wider Group, to ensure issues are raised and blockages are resolved in a timely manner.

Risk Management

  • Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters, taking the initiative for providing proactive advice to clients as identified. Coach and manage the team in these matters and ensure they are adequately trained in and cognisant of regulatory, reputational and ethical risks
  • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct and develop a robust culture to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among team members. 
  • Ensure that Risk Management matters that are brought to the job holder’s attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or ensure adequate escalation to Regional / Country Heads and Group/governance committees, as appropriate

  • Understand, acknowledge and comply with the requirements on individual accountabilities and responsibilities of the job set out in applicable local laws and regulations as well as SCB internal policies
  • Effectively ensure and intensify internal controls by keeping abreast with developments of applicable local laws and regulations on accountabilities

Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, multicultural awareness, and sensitivity

Qualifications

  • University graduate with at least 15 years solid experience in banking or finance industry. 
  • Solid experience in managing transaction banking products in a financial institution with In-depth knowledge of corporate treasury management activities in local market and relevant regulations
  • Excellent professional skills, including verbal and written communication, presentation, time management and stakeholder management
  • Language Capability: proficiency in Mandarin and English
