Title: Senior Manager, Wealth Solution Risk Governance

JOB SUMMARY
The role holder is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our Wealth Solutions (i.e WS) business including WS operations in China. The role shall ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Group requirements in operating WS business by collaborating with different Wealth Product team, Wealth and Retail Banking (i.e WRB) segments and functions teams, enhance WS risk frameworks, and support sustainable WS business growth by safeguarding client assets and WS business stability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strateg
• Deliver business strategy and outcomes on standard metrics/scorecard but no compromising risk control and governance.
• Oversee WS business risk control frameworks and be responsible for outcomes against key metrics (including but not limited to conduct risk dashboard, risk map/profile, accuracy, service levels, losses / lapses, issues, and the Enterprise Risk Management Framework etc)
• Develop and sustain a product sales compliance culture by working with stakeholders, product/policies/process journey teams in COO function to review sales and services processes in country to ensure flawless execution and compliance, develop effective communication and supervise training to promote risk awareness and compliance culture, ensure gaps are identified and addressed, collaborate with other support functions to ensure a coherent, seamless delivery and strong governance.
• Engage with business and function stakeholders including 2nd and 3rd lines ensure alignment across governance/control/conduct agendas.
Processes
• Design, manage and implement WS risk governance related processes and policies ensure that relevant policies, procedure, and standards are effectively implemented across Wealth Products by working with WS process owners and related stakeholders.
• Engage with WS Policy and Process Owners to ensure relevant policies, procedure, and standards are effectively designed across Wealth Products by providing implementation review and comment.
Risk Management
• By working with WS process owners and related stakeholders, oversee Implementation of risk management, working with WRB BRM/related risk function team to guide business risk management to ensure full implementation of WS risk and governance framework across WS teams.
• Ensure execution of the first line self-assessment model, report on and analyse operational risks profile. Track and follow through management actions to mitigate identified operational risks exposure.
• Actively manage and remediate any breaches and deviations from global / local standards by working with WS process owners, WRB BRM and related stakeholders
• Ensure full reporting of losses, risk events, policy deviations, KCST & KRI exception, and engage appropriate stakeholders on timely remedial actions; escalate key risk situations that pose significant risks by working with WS process owners, WRB BRM and related stakeholders.
• Identify new, thematic, and developing risks; provide operational risk advice through various reviews including but not limited to accountability reviews, Lessons Learnt reviews, Process / Control reviews, Peer review) at the unit level by working with WS process owners, WRB BRM and related stakeholders.
• Proactively identify key risks through Country Conduct Plan and Conduct Heatmap where application by working with related conduct team, WS/related process owner.
Governance
• Within WS COO team, accountable for the implementation and embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework linked to CN WS business to ensure appropriate focus on as risk appetite. Ensure that identified risks are subject to appropriate remedial action, escalated to the relevant senior committee if required and followed through to closure. Engage with key stakeholders to ensure alignment across governance / control / conduct agendas for WS more broadly.
• Ensure Satisfactory Audit Outcomes for WS businesses.
• Responsible to monitor, proposing remediation initiatives & actions to minimize operational losses and upkeep management controls awareness and in conjunction with GCNA/Group WS COO teams, ensure appropriate focus on risks/issues and resolutions.
• Be responsible for ensuring compliance with the highest standards of regulatory conduct and compliance standards as defined by internal and external requirements as well as maintain up a strong and appropriate control environment covering entire CN WS businesses.
