Job Summary

The person in this role will be responsible in contributing and driving medium to large network projects, working closely with the line manager and other members from the Networks & Security Architecture domain and to a reasonably large extent, the wider business and technology groups in the Bank. 

This said person must be able to translate network engineering designs, into actionable steps that will aid the endeavour to successfully implement and operate them. 

This person will collaborate with engineering and implementation squads, across all stages of a project. This person must be technical, with extensive knowledge and experience in Network, especially in technologies pertaining to WLAN and Campus networks, both traditional WLAN and cloud-managed ones, with proven track records of successfully engineering, planning, integrating, migrating, and maintaining such said networks, leading and collaborating with large size teams and diverse colleagues from business and technology, internationally. The success of this role will be determined by the tangible and measurable outcome of the assignments.

Strategy
•    Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy. Bring the solution & architecture closer to the strategy. 
•    Ensuring that business requirements are met efficiently and in a timely fashion whilst ensuring compliance with the best practice for network operations, standards, policies, strategy, risk, and principles.
•    Deliver Network Services’ global WLAN, LAN and WAN strategies, in-line with the Banks’ strategy.
•    Identify opportunities for automation, cost savings and service quality improvements.
•    Work with various security domains within the team and across the Bank, to ensure the products and solutions are secure-by-design and meet the Bank’s stringent security standards.
•    Conduct product evaluations, proof-of-concept/value, ensuring their technologies, features and other terms and conditions meet the Bank’s standards and goals.
•    Document engineering solution documentations and operational pages, including the drive ensuring governance and operations teams are well aware of the products, technologies, SOPs, and artefacts that depict the adherence to the Bank’s security standards and operational models

Business
•    Responsible for the planning and delivery of all supporting physical infrastructure, logistics, and the resources required to meet anticipated growth
•    Assist in implementing the service management methodologies including incident, problem, change and capacity management within our SLA commitments
•    To work closely with the local country managers and the asset management teams to improve data quality and eliminate the gaps
•    As part of service management, drive the Colocation vendors for continuous improvement and ensure the facilities are governed to ensure they are maintained to the required standard
•    Lead various projects and programs as needed to drive long-term objectives for the domain and beyond
•    Provide consultancy and advisory services to the business and technology stakeholders for all product and solution related matters assigned.
•    Provide operational and monitoring excellence.
•    Be the SME for matters related to WLAN, Branch and Campus networks

•    Ensure Network Architecture designs adhere to Group Security & Audit policies.

•    Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of the role. 
•    Maintain a culture of safety, security and compliance in all aspects of network operations.
•    Enable local country managers for risk awareness and strong mitigation plans to minimize / eliminate.

Skills and Experience

•    The Network Specialist:
o    Has expertise in designing, solutioning, implementing and operating modern software-defined WLAN, LAN, and WAN infrastructures from Cisco, Aruba and the likes.
o    Is responsible for the identification and selection of appropriate network solutions to design and deploy in environments based on business objectives and requirements.
o    Is skilled in developing, deploying, and troubleshooting network deployments, with deep technical knowledge, especially around routing and switching, software-defined network and WAN, wireless, typical of a large, modern enterprise network.
o    Further align the network to meet the Bank’s objectives through continuous developments, improvements and automation.
•    Preferably 8+ years of experience in network design and delivery of technology centric, customer-focused services.
•    Preferably 5+ years in collaborating, leading, or managing a team of like-minded individuals from diverse geographies in global scale projects, to achieve successful outcomes.
•    Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, or its equivalent.
•    Preferably possess a valid Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification or its equivalent.
•    Must possess a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or its equivalent. 
•    Preferably with knowledge in AWS with design and management experience.
•    Must possess advanced knowledge in TCP/IP.
•    Working knowledge in WLAN, LAN, SD-LAN and NGFW technologies. 
•    Deep understanding and working knowledge of common protocols, transports, and standards such as Internet, IPsec, QoS, BGP, OSPF, GRE and other transport technologies and protocols related to WAN and LAN.
•    Advanced understanding of Wireless technologies. 
•    Fundamental understanding of DHCP, DNS and IPAM (DDI), proxy, WAF, CDN and DDOS concepts and platforms such as Infoblox, Zscaler, Akamai, Imperva, and the likes.
•    Coding skills such as Python will be advantageous.
•    Excellent technical leadership, troubleshooting, problem analysis, and outside-the-box thinking.
•    Strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility in accomplishing the organization’s goal. Exudes confidence, able to cope under pressure and will roll-up his/her sleeves to drive a project to success in a challenging environment.
