Job Description: 

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities/Challenges:

  • Work with manager to design and execute workflow re-engineering process
  • Provide operation support on various activities related to Collection activities for HK Business
  • To ensure / improve operations effectiveness and KPIs
  • Prepare reports and periodic analysis for regular management review
  • Assist in ad-hoc assignments and other administrative works
  • Provided clerical support to the team and supervisors
  • To ensure all the operational and service issues are properly managed
  • Ensure all Regulatory, Group Policies are adhered to in the branch and proper risk controls are in place

 

Strategy

Responsibilities that are related to the development and implementation of a strategy, for example, Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.

 

Business

Responsibilities related to the delivery of business and / or financial objectives, for example, Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates

 

Processes

Reference the processes for which the Role Holder is responsible, as per the Operational Risk Framework definition of first / second line, for example, Responsible for executing and supervising the Budget process.

 

People & Talent

Reference all responsibilities related to people and talent matters, for example:

  1. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  2. Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  3. Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  4. Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
  5. Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.

 

Risk Management

Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them. For example -The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures

Maintain solid function control in operations and systems, ensuring that the function’s day-to-day activities meet customer needs and comply with Bank, statutory as well as regulatory requirements.

Exercise prudent risk management to minimize credit, operational & reputational risks at the function level (for existing and future risks).

Enhance the local profile of the Bank through effective relationship building with key external stakeholders (e.g. major customers, municipal government, local regulators etc.) and Corporate Social Responsibility activities in support of the development of the local community.

Ensure that effective people management is carried out in all areas of the function, including staff motivation, talent development, management succession, staff communication and the creation of a positive working environment in the function. Promote and reinforce appropriate behaviors, conduct and values amongst all staff.

The Function head also needs to discuss key business messages received from corporate channels, determine their applicability at the function level, cascade the information to the relevant staff in the function, and carry out local follow up actions as required.

  1. Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  2. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  3. Lead the [China/ RB Retail Banking/ Operation/ Collection Operational Support [team] to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  4. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in RB Retail Banking/ Collection Operational Support [team; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats).

 

Qualification

  • College degree or above
  • Good written English
  • Familiar with Microsoft: Word, Excel, PPT

 

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge in Collection Cycle and Bank's operational process &systems
  • Good analytical & negotiating skills
  • Fluent in spoken English and good standard in written English
  • Experience and understanding of use computer systems, especially P/C, Word for Windows and E-mail
  • Good knowledge in all functions of Unsecured/Secured portfolio operations.
  • Thorough understanding of SCB credit and control policies
