Title: Analyst, Financial Markets Intelligence Unit

Job Summary
The Financial Markets Intelligence Unit (FMIU) is responsible for the end to end process of delivering analytics and insights to the global Sales & Trading organisation. The team consists of technologists and product owners who focus on driving monetization through data-driven solutions.
The Technical Analyst (TA) in FMIU team will build tools to execute the data, analytics, and insights strategy globally across the Markets franchise. This individual will join the FMIU collaborating with Sales, Trading, COOs, control function, and technology stakeholders to deliver best in class digital analytics products and solutions.
The TA will focus specifically on managing and enhancing a suite of analytics tools designed to rapidly deliver insights that preserve our business or monetize new opportunities. This role is equal parts innovation and implementation with a strong emphasis on creative solutions to drive monetization across the FM franchise.
Day to day activities include developing data solutions, building UI for end user consumption, and working with users to iterate and improve the products. The TA will own and manage project lifecycles to deliver an ongoing portfolio of analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Partner with control functions to deploy new analytics in accordance with regulatory guidelines; help to frame internal policies and processes to guide the use of data
• Work closely with COO, Technology, and data science teams across the firm to guide the development of rules-based and machine learning models to support Markets initiatives
Business
• Awareness and understanding of core Financial Market products, platforms, and trading life cycles.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to conceptualise, build, and deploy new analytic capabilities in the form of dashboards, alerts, or interactive reports to support business insights
• Take ownership of a suite of analytics, becoming the subject matter expert across several business products
• Act as first port of call with users to investigate issues and prioritise enhancements
• Drive adoption by forging relationships with sales & trading users to ensure product is fit for purpose
• Build data solutions and test against business cases with Sales and Trading partners

Our Ideal Candidate
- 3 plus years experience in data analytics in a banking industry
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, engineering, finance background.
- Good knowledge in data visualization.
- Experience in Python & query language like SQL is a must.
- Experience in JavaScript and Unix scripting and Power BI is preferred
- Experience in developing and consuming web API is preferred.
- Experience in data science or data engineering is a plus.
