Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY
To assist in monitoring and analysis of the loan portfolio in Private Bank, as well as providing lending solutions (in the Lombard space) in the Private Banking, across all the key footprint markets of Standard Chartered Bank. Key duties include tracking performance, identifying risks, conducting financial analysis, creating reports, and communicating with clients and stakeholders and upholding the values of Standard Chartered Bank.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    To support lending strategy by monitoring, compiling, review and verify loan portfolio for the PvB locally and globally. 
•    Actively originating lending deals, by closely working with the senior lenders and providing such lending solutions to the Private Banking clients. As the first line of defence, to ensure sufficient risk management.
•    To enhance the understanding of lending by actively engaging with RMs and clients and market our lending products.

Business
•    Prepare appropriate client proposals, pitchbooks, industry updates
•    Track market and general financial and economic developments
•    Participate on identified projects to spearhead lending initiatives
•    Support the delivery of the Private Bank business’ short and longer-term objectives.
•    Ensure timely turnaround in tasks on-hand including enquiries from RMs and clients, ongoing reviews of existing accounts
•    Support the team in annual renewal cases / reviews   
•    Meet clients lending solutions based on clients’ needs and bank’s risk appetite, in terms of structured lending.

Processes
•    Support RMs in the credit process and perform tasks as per Global LST Rules of Engagement 
•    Take responsibility to comply with internal policies, procedures, codes and applicable external laws and regulations.
•    Get involved and lead some of the development as part of the credit process upgrades

Risk Management
•    Do what is right in order to avoid reputational risks and operational losses
•    Gain thorough understanding of risk and control environment and drive rectifications as required.
•    Ensure effective implementation of Risk Management framework in the team (risk appetite is clear and integral to the strategy with appropriate controls, and having effective processes in place to identify, manage, monitor and report risk
•    Ensure systems and procedures are in place to safeguard the security, integrity and confidentiality of information

Governance
•    Ensure compliance with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types, Compliance, Operational Risk, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation
•    Ensure (i) adherence to and (ii) receives prompt and regular training on: the following Regulatory Compliance policies and processes (both onshore & offshore, as is applicable) including but not limited to Treating Customers Fairly, Suitability, KYC, AML, CDD, AOD, AML, sanctions laws and terrorist financing, regulations, rules and standard business practices.
•    Ensure adherence with the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.

•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

•    Global Head of Lending Solutions, Affluent Client 
•    Market Heads Private Bank 
•    Senior Credit Officers and Senior Credit Managers for Private Banking
