JOB SUMMARY

  • The Associate Director, CPM TB, Cash role focuses on optimizing TB liabilities and offers a dynamic platform for a self-driven individual to make a tangible impact on Transaction Banking’s cash portfolio performance and the bank’s global aspirations. This role is central to delivering actionable insights and strategic solutions in partnership with frontline and central teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of TB liabilities across multiple segments and geographies to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives in deposit behavioural modelling to enhance understanding and management of deposit dynamics.
  • Drive NIM stabilization and optimization, ensuring long-term sustainability and profitability taking into account balance sheet capacity and ingroup efficiency.
  • Implement and refine FTP strategies to maximize portfolio returns in line with the bank’s FTP policy.
  • Stay ahead of balance sheet-related regulatory changes, ensuring compliance while supporting growth opportunities.
  • Build and nurture partnerships across Treasury, central, regional, and local product management teams to foster growth in high quality deposits.
  • Conduct country and regional training on the latest balance sheet topics impact the frontline’s business momentum & practices.
  • Develop KPIs, MI and management reporting templates and requirements to help monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive accountability.
  • Continuously improve the reporting, data and analytics used to support the LBSM team’s mission.
  • Ensure accurate and quality data and reporting.

Strategy

  • Act as a true business partner to deliver business insights and high impact, executive ready analysis to drive performance and enable management decisions
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying drivers of balance sheet growth and able to to present opportunities and levers to drive optimal fund raising & pricing.
  • Influence business strategies regarding balance sheet opportunities to optimize our market position. 

Business

  • Work closely with global and/ or regional product heads to establish a balance sheet-based strategy in line with the group’s overarching targets 
  • Drive innovation & ideation to always find better and more optimal ways of conducting cash business growth. 

Processes

  • Support the global head of cash balance sheet management in setting broader team priorities and initiatives, adopting an ‘agile’ approach to book of work management and prioritization, tracking team commitments and deliverables towards the collective goals. 
  • Build Awareness and understanding of bank’s data architecture and collaborate with relevant Digital MI teams to solve for analytics requirements.
  • Drive process improvement, efficiency and resolving core business issues in the team.
  • Ensure highest quality of the reports produced by the team, whilst being on top of relevant processes and timelines end to end.
  • Be on top of the latest key balance sheet related drivers

People & Talent 

  • Engagement with senior stakeholders like product heads, cluster heads, Treasury Seniors 
  • Role model behaviours within the CIB Finance team, lead through influence 

Risk Management

  • Ensure effective reporting controls in place to prevent errors to due misstatement or omission of material financial information 
     

Governance 

  • Participate in shaping the cash business growth with product, treasury and finance teams 
  • Ensure key stakeholders are aligned to all key initiatives

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in economics (or any finance related field)
  • CFA or FRM Designation is a major advantage
  • 5+ years of working experience in a Treasury (Risk, Liquidity) or Balance Sheet Management related role
  • Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
