JOB SUMMARY

  • The role will directly support the Group Head, Digital and assist in coordinating and leveraging internal resources across Digital and the Bank, as required in the running of the functions. Purpose of the role is to align with the ambition to create and develop digital focus within the organization.  Due to digital domain complexity and strong interdependencies with Segments, Geographies and Functions it is proposed to setup the role of the digital office lead who will focus on ensuring seamless progress across the domains focusing on people, data, and infrastructure 

General Management

  • Be a key contact for the direct reports of the Group Head, Digital 
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Global Head of Digital to write notes and lead strategic planning processes across the function
  • Optimise time management for the Group Head, Digital
  • Managing agendas for overseas visits
  • Identifying individuals for Group Head, Digital to meet
  • Having oversight of Group Head, Digital annual calendar planner ensuring optimal alignment with functional and Group objectives
  • Undertake specific business projects for the Group Head, Digital
  • Set the annual agenda for meetings of Group Head Digital with direct reports and other key stakeholders, covering key people activities and follow up actions, including Digital MT
  • Support execution of the functional strategy and agenda across Functions
  • Implementing effective communication plans to assist in proactive cascade of the vision, strategy, direction and leadership to the network and businesses
  • Oversee various aspects of managing the logistics of the Global Head of Digital daily work, including presentations, interactions with colleagues, daily duties, interacting closely with employees, and identifying and addressing any issues that may arise
  • Strongly connect with Digital domain leaders to provide leaders with recommendations, consultation to improve teamwork across the organization and assist the Digital leadership team members to determine and prioritize business strategies based on their schedules. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Together with the Global Head, Digital, and other stakeholders, identify and agree Digital (aligned to the CPBB priorities) and the associated Digital team’s objectives and work to be completed.
  • Develop efficient systems to collect information on performance of the team and gather cross-functional performance data. 
  • Presenting statistical performance analysis and recommending solutions to the digital leadership team will also be part of the role
  • Support the Group Head, Digital in the execution of the functional strategy and agenda across the portfolio.
  • Proactively track and measure the performance of the teams in delivering the Digital agenda, and identify gaps and actions required to deliver the agenda.
  • Work with the wider Digital team to provide portfolio reviewing capacity and managing co-source needs, reporting for committees, regulators and other MT forums etc.
  • Support development and deliver the Digital Performance Scorecard with the MT
  • Monitor and track progress of key strategic initiatives and any Digital items in the CPBB scorecard
  • Support the global head of digital to identify, report, and resolve workplace or interpersonal barriers to performance

Business

  • In collaboration with Finance, manage financial performance of Digital team to ensure that objectives are met/exceeded within agreed financial parameters and ensure timely and complete budget and forecasting submissions
  • Work with the Global Head, Digital to ensure an appropriate meeting framework for the team, including coordination of meeting papers, agendas and face to face team meetings
  • Support the Global Head, Digital in all aspects of running the Digital team e.g. working with other members of the team on thematic work/projects/board papers etc
  • Drive the Digital communication agenda to ensure people are kept up to date with developments and improvements across the function, focusing on an integrated vs product led approach, spotting opportunities for co-creation and embedding ways to listen to feedback as well as provide updates
     

Processes

  • Manage agendas, prepare materials and track action items for various meetings and committees including, MT, CPBB MT, and Digital team meetings 
  • Take the lead in driving continuous improvement, e.g. identifying and executing ad-hoc improvements to processes.
  • Act as main contact point and co-ordinator for Digital team initiatives 
  • Lead on any projects and initiatives as directed and required by Global Head, Digital 
  • Help to ensure a Management Information process is in place to allow the Global Head, Digital to receive appropriate and timely information, in order to more efficiently allocate time to matters of importance. The Management Information should include key metrics on finances, key risks and significant change programmes and people measures and should track performance, development and implementation of functional critical issues 
  • Work with the direct reports of the Global Head, Digital and other stakeholders to support the delivery of the Digital team priorities and people strategy in a safe and well-controlled manner and on an end-to-end basis – incorporating infrastructure and technology requirements. 

People & Talent 

  • Help the Global Head, Digital to manage overall Functions and Talent headcount within target.
  • Support the Digital team review of talent within the teams, ensuring succession plans are up to date and growth plans are in place
  • Ensure the Digital team are role modelling HR processes and tools e.g. JDs are regularly reviewed, 365 feedback usage, continuous performance and talent management

Risk Management

  • Support the identification and management of Digital risks to ensure the highest standards of governance and regulatory compliance
  • Support the Digital top team to ensure there is a framework for effective management of operational risks across the Digital team and compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws and regulations.

Governance 

  • Support the assessment and delivery of effective governance, oversight and controls across Digital, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 5 plus years experience in Banking as a BPM is preferred.  
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills.
