RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Awareness and understanding of the Group’s FM strategy and model for the role.
- Supporting the vision of Senior Management in the conduct, Controls, and Regulatory compliance space
- Driving the delivery of robust, efficient, cost-effective, timely technical solutions to evolving regulatory, control, conduct and supervisory requirements on both tactical and strategic levels.
- Building a culture of mutual trust with stakeholders
- Strong influencing skills
- Driving optimal performance through evolving the FM Conduct and Control Operating Model
- Clearly defining roles, responsibilities and business ownership structures
- Ensuring adequate team coaching and management.
- Setting clear direction for the team.
- Driving efficiencies, cost savings
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider FM business, economic and market environment in which the Group Operates. This role leads a team that provides core support to the business by providing risk management services.
- Responsible for aligning the team structure in accordance with the business structure to ensure effective risk management.
- Responsible for the strategic direction and provision of effective Product Ownership for all technical systems supporting the vision of Senior Management in the Conduct, Controls, and Regulatory compliance space
Processes
- Responsible for the effective delivery of Front Office Conduct, Control and Regulatory Compliance activities, ensuring all SLAs are met, stakeholders are kept informed and issues resolved effectively.
- Responsible for work elimination of Financial Markets Control activities considered to be of lower value, to deliver further efficiencies
- Responsible for the automation of Financial Markets Control activities to drive efficiencies.
People & Talent
- Responsible for continuously developing a team of strong risk managers.
- Responsible for leading through example and building the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Responsible for leading and supporting a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement.
- Responsible for driving training and communications to promote awareness and continuous learning for risk control and governance aspects.
- Responsible for ensuring the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

- FM Business Heads, FM Group and Regional COO teams, FM Functional Heads, FM Compliance, FM MT
Other Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing a strong working relationship across all FM risk and risk ops teams and locations.
- Responsible for leveraging the opportunity provided by Corporate Social Responsibility to enhance the Group’s internal and external reputation and indirectly influence the bottom line.
- Responsible for promoting the Group’s brand and Here for good with employees, clients and regulators.
- Responsible for performing other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders, and staff.
Our Ideal Candidate
- 15+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and operational processes.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies, such as Excel or SQL.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various senior stakeholders.
