JOB SUMMARY
The role provides dedicated governance and operational leadership for the global Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) business. It is responsible for driving the DPM infrastructure roadmap, strengthening control frameworks, overseeing operational risk management, coordinating fiduciary governance activities, and ensuring the robustness of investment performance governance. The role works closely with the Global Head of DPM and portfolio management teams across booking centres to maintain a scalable, controlled and regulatory-compliant operating platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy*
As a key member of the Wealth Solutions (WS) Product COO team, assist the DPM Business & WS Product COO to –
1. Drive the execution of the DPM infrastructure and platform roadmap, including enhancement of investment systems, workflow automation, and integration with mid office, back office and market platforms.
2. Lead DPM business initiatives that improve operating scalability, tighten control frameworks and support the global expansion of the DPM offering.
3. Oversee the investment performance governance framework for DPM, ensuring independent monitoring, periodic review, and high-quality performance reporting.
4. Coordinate the fiduciary oversight agenda for the DPM business, including preparation of materials, issue tracking, and follow up of actions arising from the Fiduciary Oversight Group.
Business*
1. Partner closely with the Global Head of DPM and PM teams to ensure operational readiness for new mandates, investment strategies and platform enhancements.
2. Serve as the primary business interface with Operations, BRM, Market Risk, Compliance, Performance Teams and external service providers (including Luxembourg mid/back office).
3. Oversee and manage operational incidents related to DPM. Drive root-cause analysis, remediation, compensation processes and long-term process fixes.
4. Support regulatory, risk and audit engagements related to DPM, ensuring high-quality submissions, clear documentation of controls and robust follow up.
Processes*
1. Maintain clear ownership and mapping of DPM operational processes, accountabilities and SLAs across mid office, back office and external vendors.
2. Identify, design and implement process improvements across trade implementation, rebalancing, performance reporting, mandate setup and lifecycle processes.
3. Strengthen the DPM control environment by coordinating RCSAs, thematic reviews, periodic testing of controls and readiness assessments for new products or markets.
4. Lead the business ownership of Bloomberg AIM, Bloomberg PORT, performance systems and related workflows; coordinate enhancements and resolve breakages.
Risk Management*
1. Own the operational risk agenda for DPM, including incident management, risk acceptance, issue closures and thematic control remediation.
2. Provide investment risk literacy to the DPM business by ensuring risk decomposition, exposure monitoring and pre/post-trade control checks are well understood and embedded in processes.
3. Act as the key 1st-line representative in interactions with Compliance, Operational Risk, and Market Risk on DPM-related matters.
Governance*
1. Coordinate all DPM governance forums including the Fiduciary Oversight Group, DPM COO reviews, risk meetings and performance oversight sessions.
2. Ensure governance documentation, minutes, actions and trackers are accurate, timely and auditable.
3. Maintain strong awareness of relevant regulatory requirements across Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Jersey and UK, and ensure DPM processes remain aligned.

Our Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years of experience in discretionary portfolio management (DPM) , asset management COO, investment operations or wealth management middle office
- Strong working knowledge of DPM processes, investment products, performance measurement, rebalancing workflows and operational controls
- Experience managing operational risk incidents end to end, including remediation, documentation and control uplifts
- Basic understanding of portfolio risk decomposition, benchmark awareness and investment risk concepts
- Technical familiarity with Bloomberg (AIM/PORT) or equivalent Portfolio Management system
- Experience coordinating with mid/back office providers, including outsourced operating models
- Strong stakeholder management skills; able to represent the DPM business in discussions with Compliance, Operational Risk, Audit and senior PMs
- Preferably FRM, CFA or progress towards either designation
- Strong analytical, problem solving and project management capabilities
