Title: Business Manager, Global Banking COO (DC- 7 Months)

JOB SUMMARY
- This is a 7-months direct contract .
- The role is a key position in the Global Banking COO team, with a focus on project management and strategic initiatives, in addition to providing essential business management support. The successful applicant will:
- Provide support to the various stakeholders under Global Banking, by partnering on initiatives related to Lending Transformation and other strategic business initiatives relating to workflow automation and process optimisation
- Play a key role in automation of new business processes and streamline existing processes, while supporting strategic developments in the Global banking space and help facilitate business by removing blockages
- Possess good understanding of the subject and industry best practices, able to build close relationships with key stakeholders across Business, Technology, Sustainable Finance and COO to ensure Product Roadmap and benefits are aligned with overall strategy & client needs
- Play a key role in providing overall governance of the Global Banking businesses to ensure compliance with all key governance requirements, including control and risk reporting via the Operational Risk Framework; and ensuring compliance with regulations
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- To support business in various strategic Global Banking initiatives
- To support the Business in contributing to the Bank’s interim and long-term revenue targets and achieve efficiency
- To understand and enable CIB’s ‘Originate and Distribute’ Strategy from COO Office perspective
- To be able to support business head/frontline staff to enable best in class Global Banking franchise within footprint and grow revenues
- Provide management and represent Global Banking interest across multi-functional project teams including relevant business and COO teams, technology, legal, compliance, risk, and TPRM for various projects
Business
- To assist in driving business and operational efficiencies via technological innovations with the Global Banking COO team.
- To assist in implementation of various regulatory or structural change driven projects.
- To work closely with the Heads of Global Banking Management Teams, providing support in all aspects of business development including internal marketing, expanding distribution, facilitating synergies among various products.
- To assist with MIS requests and work with Finance on reporting improvements
- Assist in the oversight of global pipelines, forecasts and P&L, underwriting portfolios and valuations/RWA for the business head, and actively engage in senior discussions to manage the same.
- To support and manage the tools required by the business to perform their role
Technology Initiatives
- To support Global Banking’s strategic technology initiatives such as CredX and Robo
- Engage with Business, Process owners and Risk Framework Owner on an on-going basis and be able to drive the technology teams on build and delivery
- Ability to think literally and look for opportunities to simplify process and enhance controls as part of design
Processes
- To aid business and functions in making processes simpler, faster and better.
- With the Global Banking COO, continue to review front office processes to ensure efficiencies and adherence to controls, policies and procedures.
- Support the development and utilisation of the bank’s platform under Client Engagement and Effectiveness for the business to enable operational efficiencies and streamlining deal workflows.
People & Talent
- Aid development of best practices in execution, controls and risk management for Global Banking transactions by training and communications to global execution teams.
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Risk Management
- Create transparency around backlog item progress, blockers, impediments, dependencies, and product value delivery via fit for purpose business and delivery metrics, to enable effective Risk management within Chief Product owner and the Product owner
- Engage process and risk control owners in upfront in design of process changes. Have oversight of, direct tracking and monitoring of projects.
Governance
- Together with the Global Banking COO, act as the primary point of contact for the development of processes, procedures and control for Global Banking
- To facilitate the internal governance of our transactions through our secretariat lens for DCC and UW reporting and other matrix reporting as required.

- Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in COO Function; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats).
Our Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years of hands on experience and proven knowledge in Corporate & Institutional Banking (or equivalent) – Experience in supporting Tech projects or initiatives for Credit business focussing on Loans or Bonds is an added advantage
- 5+ years hands on experience of Transformation – ideally as a Product Owner and strong skills of maintaining and prioritizing a backlog using digital tools
- A talented individual who can be an effective team player and strong communicator who builds trust-based relationships within the team and amongst stakeholders
- Good understanding of industry trends and client needs across Workflow automation, Project Management and Agile ways of working
- Proven ability to define requirements in the form of user stories and acceptance criteria
- Proven ability to suggest various prioritisation and decision-making techniques to the Chief Product Owner / Product owners in enabling effective decision making
- Proven ability to refine and breakdown the backlog of work for teams to consume and deliver outcomes
- Experience of working with globally distributed cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes
- Product Owner certification (or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Strong prioritization and analytical skills to manage trends, backlogs and data insights
- Exceptional communication skills to (internal and external stakeholders):
- Articulate the requirements and progress with stakeholders and team members.
- Negotiate priority items in the backlog with key stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency and path to resolution for identified risks or issues.
- Knowledge of design thinking framework and customer journeys
- Knowledge of Agile ways of working
Qualification
- Education Professional qualification or master’s degree preferred
- Training Product owner, scrum master, banking, business management, change management, agile ways of working
