Title: Business Risk Manager, Markets COO

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Risk Manager to join the Clusters Markets COO team. This role is responsible to oversee the delivery of the Markets’ regulatory Book of Work, and risk treatment plans, and to assess demands aligning to the risk outcomes. The role will also require liaising with global Markets Business risk managers and Clusters Markets COO teams on elevated risk issues, and act as a connecter between global and local teams to import and export best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Risk Management
• Oversighting delivery of Markets’ regulatory Book of work and risk treatment plans (both BAU/ investment funded).
• Reviewing / assessing demand from Global / country process owners based on risk outcomes, and to ensure it meets the objective / criteria of the Markets Non-Financial Risk Programme Steering Committee. (“NFR PgSC”)
• Liaise any elevated risk issues where applicable to Global BRMs/ Clusters COO team.
• Working with the Product Owners to review/ asses capacity in order to meet the demand.
• Be the “connector” between global and local and importing / exporting best practices.
Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure adherence to local and extraterritorial regulations.
• Support local / global regulatory and internal audits and Compliance reviews where required.
Business Governance, Conduct & Supervision
• Support the running of the Markets NFR PgSC.
• Continuously seek out process simplification and re-engineering opportunities to improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and ensure submissions to Markets NFR PgSC are accurate, complete, reconciled (where relevant), specific to the requirements and timely.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Lead the Markets COO Clusters BRM team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles FM Code of Conduct .
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
• 8+ years of experience in the banking industry, with exposure in Markets business
• Strong project management skills and the ability to co-ordinate across a wide range of stakeholders
• In-depth knowledge in Markets products and exposure to audit / risk / product / regulatory / policies management.
• Proven history of managing key stakeholders and demonstration of problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Able to multitask and manage different initiatives at a time with strong execution focus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong in verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification preferred
