JOB SUMMARY
•    We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in Singapore. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of backend systems design and architecture, excellent analytical skills, and a hands-on approach to development and DevOps.

•    The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of professional experience, demonstrates strong proficiency in data modeling, sequence diagrams, and technical architecture design, and has practical experience working within Agile development environments. The role also demands operational maturity and fluency in DevOps practices such as CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure as code.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Backend Development
•    Design and implement scalable and maintainable backend systems using modern frameworks (e.g., .NET Core, Node.js, or equivalent).
•    Build robust APIs and microservices, ensuring clean interfaces, secure authentication, and efficient data access.
•    Apply domain-driven design principles and object-oriented programming (OOP) to model business logic accurately.
System Design & Documentation
•    Create and maintain technical architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data flow models to clearly represent system behavior and structure.
•    Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and actionable engineering tasks.
•    Collaborate in architecture planning sessions, contributing to scalable and resilient system designs.
Data Modeling
•    Design normalized and optimized data models for relational and/or NoSQL databases.
•    Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability in storage and retrieval operations.
•    Work with product and analytics teams to structure data that supports both transactional and reporting use cases.

DevOps and Deployment
•    Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment.
•    Apply infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
•    Monitor system health and performance using observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
•    Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high availability and reliability of backend services.
Agile Collaboration
•    Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
•    Work collaboratively with frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and product managers to deliver complete solutions.
•    Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews to uphold quality standards.

•    Strong analytical thinking and the ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts.
•    Capable of designing robust and future-proof solutions with scalability and maintainability in mind.

•    Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications
Technical Skills
•    Strong proficiency in backend programming languages and frameworks (e.g., C#/.NET Core, Node.js, or Java).
•    Deep understanding of API design, RESTful services, and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
•    Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
•    Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
•    Proficient in modeling using UML, sequence diagrams, and ERDs.

Experience
•    Minimum of 5 years of professional backend development experience.
•    Proven track record of contributing to complex system architectures and delivering reliable backend solutions.
•    Experience implementing DevOps practices in production-grade environments.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices design.
•    Experience with formal methods or model-driven engineering.
•    Exposure to large-scale system migrations or greenfield architecture design.
•    Prior experience working with AI, LLMs, or advanced data processing pipelines.
