Job Summary

This role is a senior, hands-on regulatory control framework design and execution resource, to support the enablement of regulatory cross-border control requirements, including CRD VI Article 21c, for Transaction Banking (“TB”) Cash and Trade. 
The role will support the design, testing, and embedding of preventive and detective controls across the end to end TB Sales and client engagement lifecycle, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned to the broader Cross Border Risk Programme.
The role reports to the Head of Business Risk, Governance and Conduct, Transaction Banking and works closely with Cross Border Programme stakeholders, TB Sales, Data Analytics, and relevant support teams.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management 
•    Support the design and implementation of a cross-border control framework across the end-to-end TB Sales and client engagement processes
•    Partner with Data analytics and Product teams to co-create and iteratively improve a suite of control reports to enable ongoing preventive and detective controls 
•    Work with CIB businesses and central project teams to ensure Article 21c solutions are future‑proofed against the wider Cross‑Border Risk Programme roadmap, proactively identifying and managing dependencies, overlaps, and potential conflicts.
•    Support the training of operational control team members, assurance testers and frontline stakeholders, enabling them to run control reports and execute control processes
•    Monitor the effectiveness, proportionality, and sustainability of controls and assurance checks, refining their design and execution as regulatory interpretation, data maturity, and business processes evolve

Governance and Regulatory
•    Co‑create and continuously improve management information (MI) and risk reporting to support governance forums, senior management oversight, and decision‑making
•    Provide structured updates to project and governance forums
•    Contribute to risk treatment plan discussions related to cross border client engagement risk
•    Support internal audit, regulatory reviews and management assurance activity as required

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 12+ years of work experience in financial services
  • Detailed knowledge of Conduct Risk management, ideally gained through experience in a Conduct Risk management role
  • Self-starter with strong drive and ownership mindset
  • Able to operate independently in a project environment, with minimal supervision
  • Curious and creative, with the ability to design pragmatic solutions to complex regulatory problems
  • Structured, analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to engage credibly with senior stakeholders across business, compliance and technology
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity within a fast-moving project environment


Role Specific Technical Competencies

•    Demonstrated experience in control design, including translating regulatory requirements into practical, executable business controls
•    Ability to direct and challenge data analytics teams to create control reports 
•    Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience securing signoffs from product, compliance and data owning teams 
•    Familiarity with CRD VI Art 21c, cross-border risk, or regulatory change programmes border risk, or regulatory change programmes 
•    Self-starter, with a strong drive and ownership mindset, able to operate independently in a project environment, with minimal supervision
•    Knowledge of Transaction Banking, including Cash and Trade products, processes and systems
•    Experience operating at VP or Junior Director level within a 1st or 2nd line risk, governance or regulatory change function
