Title: Director, Group Deposits

Role Description:
• Part of the group WRB deposits product team based in Singapore reporting into the Group Head, Deposits.
• Support Group Head, Deposits in shaping the WRB Deposits and Payments strategy with implementation roadmap and targeted outcomes & KPIs.
• Lead new product development, enhancement of existing products/features and product management for deposits and payments in line with the overall group retail deposit products & segment strategy.
• Own end-to-end delivery of key Deposits & Payments initiatives with a focus on Product Innovation, Digital Journeys and Pricing Optimization, with the aim to ensure delivery of capabilities within budgets/timelines while ensuring the best in class client experience
• Monetize capabilities and develop analytics to track performance
• Drive product and journey standardization for retail deposits and payments globally
• Responsible for deposit product and payments capabilities management, associated processes, and governance.
• Deliver above working closely with various stakeholders in country, region & group.
• Provide timely and key information around business performance, key risks & mitigating actions and regulatory mandates & updates to senior stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Support shaping of the Strategy along with detailed implementation roadmap
• As a key member of WRB Group Deposits product team, play a leading and proactive role in shaping WRB deposits and payments strategy with a clear implementation roadmap, articulation of what is required to make this happen and what are the expected outcomes both financial & non-financial.
• Support the Group Head to get the strategy & execution plan agreed with country, regions and Group MT.
• Have an updated detailed execution plan and tracking of the plan with periodic updates to senior WRB management team.
Design & Implement Market leading Deposit Product, Pricing & Digital Customer Journeys
• In collaboration with countries, external partners and industry information design market leading products, pricing capabilities & digital customer journeys in WRB deposits and payments space.
• Build the business case for the initiatives and provide a pitch with details with high degree of conviction to get it approved for investment & execution.
• Lead the execution of the initiatives in an agile environment as product exert and as a Business Product Owner
• With deep knowledge of agile principles, own the vision of the Group Deposits and Payments strategy, and hold accountability for defining and delivering on the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) of all relevant deposits and payments deliveries; including
• Defining end-to-end requirements, making sure they are complete, integral and consistent
• Prioritizing Squad backlog in collaboration with One Delivery Product Owner, in terms of user stories to achieve business goals;
• Managing relationships and synchronizing Technology colleagues with the Deposits Hive Lead, Delivery Product Owner and other Product Owners in cross-squads responsible for related products to align on roadmaps, priorities and dependencies
• Ensure high degree of stakeholder management to enable all requirements and deliverables are correctly understood, planning is up to date, priorities are reaffirmed, and stakeholder expectations are appropriately managed.
• Work with markets for monetization of the capabilities, helping to increase the bank’s customer base and product adoption
• Develop, deploy and track key success metrics, both P&L based and client satisfaction linked
Business & Performance management
• Work along with group analytics & finance team to Build / enhance the existing analytics framework, dashboards, MIS & reports to ensure deep insights into the levers driving the WRB deposits and payments business.
• Articulate analytics outcome with should lead to key tangible actions that impact the customers, business growth and financial outcome.
• Proactive performance management with close contact and co-ordination with countries to highlight what is going well & can do more and what is not going as per the plan & needs improvement.
• Based on the business trajectory and upcoming initiatives along with group finance have a ongoing forecast view with risks & opportunities.
• Have a deep understanding of the FTP policy & upcoming changes for the WRB deposit business, understand the future direction of interest rates & FTP policy changes and proactively guide the countries to ensure ways to improve margins and update senior WRB stakeholders on the impact and opportunities / risks of such changes.
People and Talent
• Proactively provide inputs into squad members evaluation and performance review on a regular basis
• Working with Deposits Hive Lead and Delivery Product Owner to dynamically allocate resources within the squad based on (i) squad backlogs and (ii) resource needs
• Define the set of necessary competences in the squad with Deposits Hive Lead and and Delivery Product Owner, highlighting missing competencies and ensuring fulfilling these in timely manner so as to maintain the backlog on track
Risk Management and Governance
• Ensure end to end product & process management & governance for retail deposits products and payments capabilities.
• Ensures timely, and quality (error free) submissions, as needed for various internal governance forums.
• Ensures that all the applicable and relevant standards and policies are duly met to ensure there are no regulatory / compliance lapses
• Act as a governance leader promoting the highest levels of ethical conduct. Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Our Ideal Candidate
• 10+ years of experience in a financial institution, preferably in Retail Clients / Retail Product & Project Management, with a good understanding of Deposits, digital products and financials drivers. PMP/Agile certification would be preferred
• Strong understanding of Deposit P&L and how the various levers impact the deposit profitability
• Understanding of and delivery under Agile framework
• Strong financial management capabilities: budget tracking, planning, forecast and variance explanations
• Good interpersonal and communication skills: networking, negotiation and influencing
• Positive attitude with the capability to work under pressure and deliver on multiple deadlines
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
