Job Summary
Standard Chartered is investing significantly in digital transformation to improve our productivity, client and employee experience and creating capacity to reinvest in incremental growth activities. The Director, Strategic Engagement, Transaction Banking (TB), will play a critical role in shaping how transformation and change is communicated, understood and embedded throughout TB.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Engagement, TB, this role is responsible for designing and delivering a cohesive communications strategy across the entire Transformation & Business Change portfolio. This includes translating complex programme content into clear, engaging and consistently branded updates that drive alignment, visibility and adoption.
The role combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution – ensuring every initiative is communicated with clarity, impact and consistency under the One TB agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Communications Strategy
• Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy across the TB Change and Transformation portfolios
• Ensure consistent, timely and accurate stakeholder communication and information flows.
• Maintain consistent branding, tone and messaging across all programmes
• Align programme updates to the broader One TB narrative and strategic priorities
• Track and analyse data across channels to continuously improve communication effectiveness
Content Development and Channel Management
• Create high-quality written content including programme updates, articles and announcements
• Develop bite-sized, multi-channel content formats that increase reach and engagement
• Design visually engaging infographics that clearly show programme progress, milestones and impact
• Build and maintain the TB Transformation and Business Change SharePoint sites as central knowledge hubs
Visual and Digital Execution
• Design clear, consistently branded infographics and dashboards that illustrate progress and impact
• Produce visually engaging communication assets using Canva and PowerPoint
• Support video content creation including scripting, storyboarding, production and editing
• Ensure visual storytelling enhances understanding and drives engagement among stakeholders
Change and Engagement
• Embed structured change and engagement practices across the portfolio to support effective programme implementation, stakeholder alignment and adoption where required
• Partner with key stakeholders and programme leads to shape messaging that reinforces business readiness and implementation milestones
• Identify opportunities to improve clarity, reduce noise and increase the impact of portfolio communications
Executive and Stakeholder Reporting
• Develop regular updates following QPR cycles, ensuring clarity and consistency
• Transform detailed portfolio data into executive-ready summaries
• Ensure senior stakeholders have visibility of programme progress and key milestones

Our Ideal Candidate
• 8+ years of strong experience in communications, internal engagement or transformation communications
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex technical content
• Ability to translate data into visual storytelling
• Solid understanding of digital content architecture and user experience principles
• Experience supporting large-scale programmes or transformation initiatives preferred
• Experience in financial services desirable; knowledge of Transaction Banking advantageous but not essential
Technical Skills
• Canva – strong working knowledge
• Advanced PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience building and managing SharePoint or internal digital sites
• Video creation and editing tools such as Adobe preferred
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and ability to code simple web pages advantageous
