What is the Opportunity?
We are seeking a talented and passionate, senior individual to join the Group Transformation team as a Vantage Programme Director
The Vantage programme is a new strategic transformation initiative to be accelerated through Fit for Growth. It aims to redefine how we deliver business services across the Bank. It is designed to enhance scalability, unlock greater operational leverage, and strengthen our competitive edge by uplifting service experiences through client centric innovation. Through embedding AI at the core of our operations, we aim to advance a skills-first operating model, simplify and align processes and technologies, and deliver enduring strategic value. Vantage advances the objectives of Fit for Growth and supports our efforts to create Functions of the Future.

The Vantage programme is part of the Bank’s overall transformation agenda and alignment of the programme with overall transformation is ensured through the Group Transformation Office. This office works under the guidance of the Global Head, Group Transformation, as part of the Strategy and Talent MT. The office also collaborates closely with other senior business and functional leaders in the bank to build and deliver bank-wide transformation.

This role looks to ensure the effective delivery of this programme. The role will support the design and implementation of the new approach to delivering business services across the Bank. This will include rapidly scaling the programme support and structure, working closely with stakeholders across the Bank bringing them on the journey and ensuring solutions are delivered in service of our business and functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop the future strategy, vision and mission for the Bank’s global business services model 

•    Engage with relevant stakeholders across the bank to gather requirements and insights on current and future state global business services including across process, technology and services lenses
•    Facilitate workshops and meetings to articulate the high-level opportunity for redesigning business services across the Bank 
•    Set a clear direction for the future aligned with the long-term productivity and simplification agenda for the Bank

Drive implementation of the future model

•    Leveraging change management best practices create and execute on an implementation roadmap to achieve the strategy, vision and mission
•    Work closely with business and functions leaders across the Bank to ensure that programme objectives are clear and implementation occurs at a rapid pace 
•    Ensure that sustainable long-term solutions are designed and embedded, so that gains and improvements in ways of working across the Bank are well established and continue evolving on an ongoing basis 

Develop appropriate monitoring and tracking dashboards to support implementation and continuous improvement

•    Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for programme dashboards leveraging best in class examples and practices across the bank
•    Define the scope and functionality of dashboards to enhance implementation, ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of global business services 
•    Ensure dashboards provide timely, actionable information to stakeholders and are integrated into relevant decision making forums

Integrate with the Bank’s overall transformation agenda
•    Awareness of the Bank’s overall transformation agenda and experience in bringing together technology, processes and business services including for example through processes universe, service catalogues etc
•    Collaborate with stakeholders across the Bank’s transformation programmes, including the Global Transformation Office and Fit for Growth programme to ensure progress from these programmes is integrated into Vantage and Vantage appropriately extends their impact 
•    Develop an operating model with ongoing transformation programmes that enhances collaboration and effectiveness with clearly defined roles and responsibilities 

People and Talent 

•    Employ, engage and retain a high quality diverse workforce, with succession planning for critical roles.
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
•    Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
•    Proactively review team structure/capacity as resource demand (quantum & skill-set) evolves.
•    Lead a performance management process to ensure direct reports have defined responsibilities and objectives; transparent and balanced feedback; and clear and achievable career aspirations.

Risk Management

•    An awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the potential impact that the programme could have on the ability of the organisation as a whole to manage those risks
•    Identify, escalate and resolve issues that have the potential to hinder or delay the implementation of the required steps under the Programme. 
•    Resolve any issues or conflicts arising under the Programme.  Work with other key project teams around the Group to ensure inter-dependencies are appropriately considered and managed.

Governance 

•    Support full budget setting accountability for initiatives/projects, with budgets likely to be significant at a Group level.
•    Drive and manage budget decisions within the organisation of their responsibility.
•    Promote awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
•    Deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
•    Manage audits and assurance reviews, both internal and external.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

•    Accountable Executive for the Programme 
•    Programme Steering Committees and relevant Project Steering Committees
•    Leads for any key Business Working Groups within the Programme structure, including across Global Business Services
•    Group Transformation MT and team
•    Strategy and Talent MT
•    Key Functions involved in related projects, including Legal, CFCC, Tax, Finance, Risk and parts of Treasury
•    Business COO teams on relevant projects

Our Ideal Candidate

•    Degree qualified with 8+ years experience in banking, specifically experience in managing large complex projects. 
•    Experience in managing and optimising global business services in multi-national organisations 
•    Some overall understanding of the two businesses CIB and WRB, and functions including how processes, technology and operations connect, in particular the ability to join the dots and manage end to end.
•    Highly strategic, consultative and solution oriented with the ability to assess and understand SC business & organisational issues/requirements.
•    Strong execution capability, high discipline with excellent project management skills
•    Strong relationship management skills.
•    Strong ability to manage and effectively influence multiple stakeholders including senior management
•    Strong analytical capability
•    Very strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills i.e. PowerPoint, Excel
•    Strong team orientation. Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural, cross-geographical, matrix environments
•    High level of responsiveness, sense of urgency; ability to operate in a highly pressurised & dynamic environment
•    Strong drive for results, ability to plan, track and follow through to deliver an aggressive project plan
