Job Summary
The person is responsible for driving effective policy implementation and risk governance across the Wealth Solutions (WS) Business and Operations teams. The role ensures compliance with applicable Group policies, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements, while providing oversight of Wealth Solutions key risks, controls and governance arrangements.
The role supports the WS COO in fulfilling delegated Country Process Owner responsibilities for Wealth Solutions processes, including residual risk assessments, control design and control effectiveness reviews. It also leads the coordination of internal and external audits, peer reviews, outsourcing governance and issue remediation, working closely with business, operations, risk and other key stakeholders to strengthen the control environment and enable sustainable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for reviewing all relevant Group policies / procedures / standards of the Bank to assess if the WS Business and Operations teams are in compliance with the requirements stipulated therein.
- Responsible for supporting the WS COO in his role as the delegated Country Process Owner for WS processes, which includes the review of proposed residual risk assessments of key WS process such as Product Management and Wealth Sales & Advisory, and the design and assessment of key controls.
- Responsible for supporting the WS Business and Operations teams in minimizing operational risks and losses and ensuring that material risk and loss events are investigated and remediated to prevent recurrence.
- Responsible for managing all WS internal and external audits and peer reviews.
- Responsible for collaborating with stakeholders such as the Business Risk Management (BRM) team to complete Management Action Plans until all issues are closed and potential risks are mitigated.
- Responsible for collaborating with stakeholders for predictive risk management through the monitoring of emerging risks, thematic reviews, deep dives etc.
- Responsible for ensuring adequate governance and oversight of WS’s outsourced functions and activities, including that the outsourcing activity complies with internal and external requirements.
Our Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of experience in Wealth Management and ideally from Retail Banking.
- Strong exposure to policy, governance and risk management frameworks covering operational risk, conduct risk, regulatory risk and data privacy risk , etc.
- Possess knowledge of Wealth Management products (e.g, Capital Markets, Mutual Funds, Insurance) and operations with the ability to translate this into effective governance, controls and policy implementation across a diverse product suite.
- Proven experience in Wealth related Operational Risk management, including risk assessment, control design / assessment, and issue remediation, with sound judgement to balance risk oversight and business partnership.
- Sound regulatory knowledge in investment suitability & selling process and understanding of the retail banking business.
- Experienced in complaints management and outsourcing management duties.
- Ability to adapt and act quickly to drive change by advocating innovative solutions
- Self-motivated team player, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate and resolve complex operational issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal key stakeholders
