Job Summary
The Executive Director, Enablement Lead, Cash Management is accountable for enterprise‑level enablement, performance oversight, and strategic execution of the Cash Management business (including DCS). The role partners closely with the Cash Management Management Team (MT), Transaction Banking (TB) COO MT, and Group functions to ensure strategy is executed effectively through robust operating models, disciplined investment, strong governance, and risk‑controlled growth.
The role acts as a senior integrator across Cash business, technology, operations, risk, as part of the TB COO, ensuring the Cash franchise delivers sustainable shareholder value while meeting regulatory, conduct, and control expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Strategy & Performance
- Partner with the Head of Enablement, Cash Management and Cash MT to define, prioritise, and execute the Cash Management strategic agenda, aligned to Group and Transaction Banking strategy.
- Provide enterprise‑level oversight of business performance, including cost discipline, productivity, service levels, risk outcomes, and headcount optimisation.
- Support the annual strategy, Corporate Plan, and investment budgeting process for the Cash business, working closely with the Cash CFO.
- Actively contribute at Cash MT, shaping priorities, challenging assumptions, and ensuring alignment across regions, clusters, and functions.
- Enable delivery of near‑ and long‑term revenue targets by ensuring strategic initiatives are sequenced, resourced, and governed effectively.
Operating Model, Technology & Enablement
- Own the enterprise enablement agenda for Cash Management, ensuring systems, capabilities, processes, and operating models are fit for purpose and consistently implemented across the global footprint.
- Partner with the TB COO and Technology leadership to prioritise and govern strategic technology investments, including business case development and benefits realisation.
- Hold Technology and Operations accountable for operational efficiency, resilience, control effectiveness, and scalability of Cash platforms and processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and simplification of end‑to‑end processes, embedding a culture of innovation and “fit for growth” across the franchise.
- Ensure effective product lifecycle governance and disciplined execution across Cash and DCS.
Risk, Governance & Regulatory Accountability
- Provide enterprise oversight to ensure the Cash Management business operates within the Group’s risk appetite, across operational, non‑financial, product, conduct, and reputational risk.
- Partner closely with the Global Head, Conduct & Control, TB, and Risk functions to shape and embed the risk, compliance, and conduct agenda for Cash.
- Strengthen and maintain product risk governance, including Product Lifecycle Controls (PLC) and related governance disciplines.
- Ensure timely resolution of audit, regulatory, and compliance findings, driving sustainable improvements in controls and processes.
- Represent the Cash business, as delegated, in risk committees and regulatory engagements, working closely with the Group Regulatory Liaison team to prepare high‑quality business updates and materials for regulators.
- Deliver “effective governance” by constructively challenging senior stakeholders and maintaining open, transparent relationships with regulators.
People, Culture & Leadership
- Lead by example, setting the tone from the top on ethics, conduct, and the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Partner with business and functional leaders to ensure the Cash franchise has the right organisation design, capability, and capacity to deliver its strategic ambitions.
- Provide oversight of talent, succession planning, mobility, and capability development for critical roles across the Cash Management business.
- Champion an inclusive, high‑performance culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent, with a strong focus on Diversity & Inclusion.

Our Ideal Candidate
- 12+ years’ experience in Transaction Banking / Cash Management at a global or regional level.
- Strong commercial acumen, with deep understanding of Cash P&L dynamics, cost management, margins, and returns optimisation.
- Proven experience operating at enterprise and MT level, influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology, and control functions.
- Deep expertise in business, product, and non‑financial risk, with a strong track record of governance and regulatory engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex transformation agendas, including technology‑enabled change and operating model evolution.
- Credible, confident leader with a global mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to challenge constructively.
- Role model for the Group’s Values, with an uncompromising commitment to ethics, conduct, and risk discipline.
