  • The Financial Markets Technology function is responsible for the systems development and technology infrastructure which underpin the Bank’s services for Financial Markets clients, and the execution of projects developing this infrastructure.
  • One of the key on-going investments in that area is the FM re-platforming programme, which aim to simplify and upgrade the FM infrastructure by delivering transformational changes to remediate obsolescence, deliver operational efficiencies, cost reductions and business growth enablers

 

This large programme is currently structured in 3 parts:

 

1. The migration of trade processing capability and transactions from legacy systems to the new platform
2. The migration of post-trade reports & interfaces from legacy systems to the new platform
3. The delivery of 10 acceleration initiatives, allowing a faster delivery pace of the programme

 

We are looking for a senior Delivery Lead to drive the first workstream focusing in 2025 on Global Rates Desk migration. Workstream objectives: 

  • Derivatives Rates Desks migration to de-risk current legacy Trade processing platform 
  • Enable business growth through the new platform which is a collection of internal/external capabilities supporting front-to-back processing

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end delivery of prioritised Business Epics and Underlying Features. Outcome : OKRs and business benefits achieved. 
  • On time and budget Delivery of all initiatives Milestones and Customers go-live milestones. 
  • Refined governance/execution model (if required) with clear OKR, roles and responsibilities.

  • Programme artefacts documentation and maintenance : Manage, to the highest standard, all aspects of programme management: planning, financials, risks, issues, dependencies, reporting, governance ceremonies, benefit tracking.
  • Document and execute effective and timely communication and provision of information to programme governance authorities including business sponsors, programme team and technology management on agreed appropriate frequency and formality.
  • Ensure Programme deliverables are aligned with the organization's technical strategy and standards. Oversee decisions about platform architecture, systems integration and technology stack selection.
  • Project planning and forecasting (collaborate with the application teams and Product Owners to create and agree the delivery plan) 
  • Stakeholders agreement documentation on the project plan to confirm scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Regular (weekly) progress reports against the baselined project plan and manage risk, issues, and dependencies with collaboration with business and technical experts to timely resolve them.
  • Programme meetings with all stakeholders (project team including application teams, business users, architects, and experts) to provide a forum for project updates and to discuss and resolve cross team’s dependencies and address other project related critical topics
  • Project (focused) meetings to brainstorm new requirements, design, and solutions
  • Full high-quality backlog documentation : ensure business requirements, functional specifications, and user acceptance criteria are high quality and aligned to business and technology objectives including building future proof scalable solutions.
  • Documentation and socialisation of Process and system improvements to create sustainable business value
  • Compliance with change management standards & procedures, including documenting and capturing all artefacts required by project governance.
  • Documented and validated plan for operational, business and country risk assessment and impacts are documented and attested by respective owners.
  • Proactively suggest process and system improvements to create sustainable business value

Our Ideal Candidate

  • University degree in Science/Technology/Finance
  • Certifications from the CFA or FRM are good to have
  • 5 years of relevant experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes of work in the Financial Markets Technology space, preferably on build solutions (rather than buy and integrate), managing geographically distributes teams.
  • Strong leadership and accountability
  • Strong front-to-back Financial Markets business processes understanding including Front Office’s Trade and Order’s execution, Market and Credit risk generation, Middle Office trade and cash life cycle management, Operations processing and reporting for confirmations, settlements, client statement, Finance and Product Control accounting and P&L reporting, compliance controls reporting and regulatory reporting and other ancillary processes supporting trade end-to-end processing and reporting.
  • Strong technical acumen, understanding of IT architecture concepts, these initiatives are all technical in nature, some delivering relatively sophisticated solutions.
  • Experience in business analysis and in reviewing business analyst’s requirements, functional specifications, process flows and other business and technical documentation.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder communication including timely project progress reporting to business sponsors and technology management.
  • Experience managing ambiguity to provide clarity and facilitate discussions to reach consensus on both technology designs and business processes.
  • Excellent communication skills (business writing in particular) to all levels of seniority
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence, negotiate and convince
