Job Summary

This is a 12 Months Direct Contract role.    

 

As an GenAI Engineer in the Enablement team your responsibilities will be to drive adoption of GenAI engineering practices across enterprise development teams (Java, Lit/Web Components, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Python), evolving teams to structured Spec-Driven Development (SDD) integrated across the full SDLC. 

You will be an experienced Java Full-Stack Engineer with experience learning to build with GenAI and championing the approaches, tools & learning that all engineers, product owners, release managers, and SRE team members are going through. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver hands-on workshops for developers on GenAI-assisted coding, testing, and documentation; building progressive learning paths (Chat → Prompt Engineering → SDD → Full SDLC Integration) with stack-specific materials across Java, Lit, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
  • Evaluate, configure, and standardise GenAI tooling across teams (IDE extensions, CLI agents, code review assistants); developing reusable spec templates, prompt libraries, and SDD workflows per stack, with conventions for AI-generated artifacts (specs, tests, migrations, documentation).  
  • Enterprise Engagement partner with engineering leads to embed SDD practices into existing team workflows and CI/CD pipelines; running pilot programmes with target teams and advising on governance, security, and IP considerations for enterprise GenAI usage. 
  • Establish and nurture an internal GenAI engineering community of practice; facilitating knowledge sharing through demos, office hours, internal blogs, and champion networks, while identifying and mentoring GenAI champions within each team to sustain adoption. 
  • Define and track adoption KPIs (e.g., SDD usage rates, developer satisfaction, cycle time impact, code quality metrics); reporting on maturity progression across teams and continuously refining the enablement programme based on quantitative and qualitative data. 
  • Partner with leading delivery squads to expand the skills, agents and multi agent approaches with a use case that can be an example to other teams 
  • Development of automated tools and processes for AI augmented delivery - Develop a highly automated process to enable skills, agents & project prompts to be shared, managed and published widely 
  • Collaboration with Teammates – Collaborate with product teams, data engineers, and data scientists to understand SDD and AI development use cases, challenges and improvements 
  • Documentation to enable sharing of knowledge and Best Practices - Document and communicate your work clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences for future reference 
  • Keeping pace with Agentic Engineering Industry Approaches: Stay up to date on the latest advancements in GenAI AI Tools, Models, Agentic architectures and vendor offerings for building with AI and AI Agents

•    Supports Hive Tech Lead, Product Area Lead, Product Management and Engineering in strategy of AI Augmented SDLC engineering, roadmap and execution.
•    Deliver outputs that make a significant contribution to the organization's strategic goals.
•    Refactor and deploy AI prototypes with new tools and technologies in support of the strategic requirements of business stakeholders.
•    Partner with internal and external partners (i.e. GitHub, internal platform teams) to determine the right solutions as industry evolves.

•    Promote engineering craftmanship and focus on delivering business value.
•    Promote GenAI engineering and technical excellence across the squad 
•    Works across multiple squads or hives for delivery of complex Features, Epics & Releases.
•    Exhibit passion for client experience with a user-first mindset. 
•    Drive the domain towards future state of banking and technology

•    Study existing engineering processes and contribute to improvements to drive up efficiencies. Present ideas across other areas and foster innovation.
•    Analyze, remove, or mitigate dependencies across teams to enable speed and quality of delivery

People and Talent
•    Work on upskilling of technical expertise of the Engineers to enable them to become more efficient in agentic tools used day-to-day. 
•    Mentoring and training the squad on technical skills to become proficient at developing AI tools,, services and pipelines. 

Risk Management
•    Mitigate delivery risks and issues, and ensure quality, affordability, and scope of delivery.

Governance
•    Support the remediation of  tech compliance (ESDLC) requirements through the delivery lifecycle (design reviews, security reviews, code reviews, SAT, OAT, etc.) with support from HTL(Hive Tech Lead) / PO / CPO (Chief Product Owner)

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ year Engineering experience in building data-driven applications and 1+ years as a GenAI engineer with any AI Augmented IDEs/Systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks.
  • Expert understanding of LLM architecture and concepts 
  • Experience working with large language models and AI coding IDEs and systems. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for storytelling. 
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems, adapting to new challenges and changing priorities. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ideate and optimize GenAI skills and agents 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team. 
  • Familiarity with database systems (such as relational and vector databases) 
  • Understanding of DevOps pipeline is a plus
