Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to provide clear ownership of strategic change and COO accountability, ensuring that transformation initiatives are delivered with discipline, alignment and measurable impact. It is designed to bridge long-term strategic priorities with day-to-day operational execution in partnership with the S&T leadership for Corporate and Real Estate Services (CRES), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and S&T COO. 
As Global Head, Strategic Change CRES and SCM, she or he will provide leadership to the strategic planning process and will implement new strategic initiatives across the functions. The role requires an individual who can provide strategic leadership, influence, and align ambitious global agendas and priorities whilst driving effective execution through a skilled, engaged team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy 
•    Drive strategic change initiatives across the Group ensuring these are aligned to the Group strategic agenda. 
•    Define and assess strategic priorities which support the vision of functions both individually and collectively.
•    Support Headcount and Budget globally for CRES and SCM in collaboration with the Strategy & Talent CFO and the relevant teams. 
•    Support Incremental Changes (IC), which includes overseeing our Build & Maintain (B&M) model by optimising and prioritising our change programmes across CRES and SCM, co-creating roadmaps, and taking accountability for programme delivery.

•    Leading the Fit for Growth (FFG) programme for sub functions where applicable – this programme commenced in Q1 2024, with the aim of simplifying, standardising, and digitising the Bank’s processes, to provide a platform for Business growth and to ‘make it easier to get things done’.
•    Lead the design and implementation of a new Target Operating Model (TOM) for the relevant functions globally, collaborating with key stakeholders across each function. 
•    Establish relationships with external vendors to support thought leadership, benchmarking, and experiences to inform strategic change delivery and build the change capability across the various functions. 
•    Maintain constant collaboration and engagement with stakeholders to align on priorities, expectations, connections, and dependencies.
•    Linking operating models where possible, across the different sub-functions 

Business 

•    Contribute to the monitoring of external perspective to bring in innovative ideas and benchmark ourselves with progressive companies across sectors to drive greater impact for our clients.
•    Support relationships building and management of vendors when required. 

Processes
•    Optimise the various global operating models through strong governance processes, efficient infrastructure and effective risk committees. 
•    Partner with various other teams such as Finance to ensure the functions have the appropriate processes and controls. 
•    Support the identification and delivery of process optimisation and simplification across the full process universe. 

People & Talent

•    Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.
•    Deliver a ‘one team’ culture across the sub-functions. Sets the standard for and delivers a positive working culture across a new organisation in a high pressure and complex environment. 
•    Promote and embed the valued behaviours into the ways of working of the entire programmes resource base.
•    Provide effective leadership to the team, communicate the vision, and build commitment and energy to focus on key priorities. 
•    Lead the way on culture and values to set the appropriate tone across the team and ensure people are developed, recognised, and rewarded appropriately. 
•    Ownership of the Global Operating Model including the People Strategy focused on attracting, retaining and promoting a diverse range of talent globally. 
•    Accountable for managing the same within the headcount and budget caps per the Corporate Plan. 
•    Responsible for understanding and anticipating future industry trends and underlying team capabilities and infrastructure required to consistently execute on strategic plans set and adapted. 
•    Ownership and steerage of the respective MyVoice engagement actions plans and communications. 

Risk Management

•    Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of the role.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk and compliance matters within the necessary timeframes.
•    Identify and report key risks and ensure where outside of the risk appetite they are escalated to the appropriate body for risk acceptance. 

Governance
•    Successfully manage scope through effective governance and stakeholder management
•    Drive awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
•    Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner. 

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Comply with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and practices as defined by internal and external requirements.
•    Assess requirements and take accountability for ensuring all regulatory requirements related to the introduction of key cloud products and supporting business processes are met in a timely fashion, including data residency, data privacy, outsourcing arrangements and legal requirement.
•    Understand and ensure compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines including those governing securities activities, company law, anti-money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions; the Group’s policies and procedures; and the Group Code of Conduct. 
•    Embed the Group’s Values and Group Code of Conduct to ensure adherence with the highest standards of ethics.  Comply with relevant policies, processes and regulations, as part of the culture.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    Significant and demonstrable experience working in operations, strategy, or transformation in the financial industry preferable.
•    Experience of working within Big Four consultancy environment would be advantageous
•    Would have worked in an international, dynamic organisation
•    Ability to balance strategic thinking, with operational detail where required to assure quality and problem solve
•    Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to adapt to different styles according to target audience.
•    Demonstrated competency in decision making and problem solving; resource management; conflict management; leadership; and planning, prioritising and goal setting.
•    Excellent communication skills – oral, written and presentation.
•    A proven track record leading successful projects. 
•    Strong understanding of complex programmes financials and SCB financial processes
•    Experience of working with 3rd party vendors, managing scope and delivery
•    Evidence of prior experience managing and influencing stakeholders at Executive/Board level and providing high quality presentations and updates
•    Ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders, internal resources and 3rd parties
