Title: Global Head of Enablement, Transaction Banking Cash Management

JOB SUMMARY
• Work with the Global Head Cash Management & Cash MT (including DCS) to define and execute the business strategic plan as part of the TB, CIB and Group strategy. Ensure plan incorporated economic, political and regulatory change to maximise shareholder value, identify and create areas of competitive advantage.
• Lead the annual strategy, Corporate Plan process and Investment Budget for the Cash business (including DCS), alongside the Cash CFO.
• Ensure global systems, capabilities and processes are fit for purpose and are implemented as per expected standards across our footprint.
• Responsible for delivery of agreed outcomes on standard metrics/scorecards, e.g. cost, productivity, service levels, risk, headcounts.
• Partner with the TB MT and business leads to drive the strategic and operational agenda of the franchise.
• Work closely with the rest of the TB COO MT to leverage transversal capabilities where relevant to deliver on the business priorities as follows (but not limited to):, ,
• Collaborate with the TB COO on pan TB Cash initiatives and ensure product owners support the delivery and provide relevant domain expertise as required.
• Collaborate with the Global Head Conduct & Control, TB” and ensure the business adheres to the conduct and control framework and risk management processes. Ensure product / business risk management teams support the delivery of Cash risk initiatives.
• To deliver on the business performance agenda for the TB Cash business, leveraging the business and client analytics and frontline enablement transversal capability.
• Partner with FSS, FM, WRB to align priorities on Cash & DCS.
• As a Cash MT Member
• Collectively responsible and accountable for setting business strategy, managing performance and allocating resources across the Group & Cluster teams.
• As a IBS being collectively responsible and accountable for the setting and governance of infrastructure processes and frameworks for robust compliance and controls, e.g. AML and sanctions risk, non-financial risk, product risk.
• Collectively responsible for ensuring costs discipline and optimal staffing levels to support business growth and meet operational requirements.
• Responsible to support the Group Cash Heads in discharging his/her IBS responsibilities and representation in the different risk committees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Work with Cash MT to define and implement the business strategic agenda to maximise shareholder value, identify and create areas of competitive advantage.
• Actively participate at the Cash MT to contribute to the Transaction Banking strategic priorities that are aligned to Cash, which maximises shareholder value, identifies and creates areas of competitive advantage and aligns to the overall strategic direction of the wider business.
• Support the development and implementation of the strategic priorities for Cash business.
• Support the Business in contributing to the Bank’s near-term and long-term revenue targets.
• Support the group cash head to enable the business to progress towards being best in class Cash Management Bank by prioritising investments, improving delivery of commitment, timelines / quality within our chosen segment.
• Work closely with the TB COO / TB Investment Portfolio Management and represent Cash interest in prioritisation of investments across various projects.
• Ensure global systems, capabilities and processes are fit for purpose and are implemented as per expected standards across our footprint.
Business
• Work closely with the Cash MT, providing support in all aspects of business development including execution of business strategy, long term growth plans.
• Collaborate with the various support functions and ensure their teams have the appropriate skill and capacity to support business growth and delivery of the business priorities. Improve productivity and efficiency by driving an automation and standardisation agenda for the Operations team to enable sustainable growth and scalability.
• Remove blockages and enable revenue growth while keeping the business safe.
• Assist in implementation of various regulatory or structural change driven projects.
• Assist in implementing tactical and strategic projects aimed at operationalizing the Bank’s Fit for Growth agenda targets.
• Own the embedding and maintenance of product lifecycle development in the Cash product function.
Processes
• Work closely with Technology and Operations to drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency, effectiveness and consistency of global processes and systems.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to sustain competitive advantage.
• Manage the implementation of policies and control standards set by risk control owners, ensuring compliance and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite.
• Ensure there is a framework for effective management of operational risks within the business and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations.
• Oversee governance of Cash Risk Forum.
People & Talent
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• Support the Cash Head to employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
• Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
• Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports of the Cash Head and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives (if permitted on a confidential basis).
• Support the Cash Head in driving talent management, mobility opportunity, training calendars, D&I initiatives.
Risk Management
• Ensures there are appropriate frameworks in place so that the TB Cash business is carried out within the Group's risk appetite and reputational, operational and credit risks (where applicable) are appropriately managed in conjunction with the business and other stakeholders.
• Balance business performance delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the group’s ability to remain within risk appetite
• Working closely with the “Global Head Conduct & Control”, and actively participate in shaping of the risk, compliance and conduct agenda, and continue to proactively push the conduct agenda.
• Ensure that all audit and compliance findings are resolved in a timely manner to encourage the continual improvement of processes and procedures
• Ensure Cash MT have the correct focus on risks and conduct.
• Ensure that risk management matters for Cash management are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalated, where appropriate to relevant risk committee.
• Develop & Strengthen product risk governance through PLC & other governance disciplines.
Governance
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
• Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
• Accountable for escalation to TB NFRC and/or other Group governance committees or stakeholders in senior management, risk or control functions.
Technology Initiatives
• Work closely with the TB COO to support Cash’s strategic technology initiatives by building business cases for technology investments.
• Drive the adoption of technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth
• Ability to think literally and look for opportunities to simplify process and enhance controls as part of design
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Represent the business head in discussions with Group Regulatory Liaison team regarding any updates to be presented to key regulators. Timely and accurate preparation of relevant business updates and papers requested by the regulators via the Group Regulatory Liaison team.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Business Continuity Management
• Responsible for ensuring an adequate Business Continuity Management (“BCM”) plan is in place across the business, to facilitate continuity of critical business operations in the event of significant business interruption.
