We are a global team of "Members" (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group's support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, and the United Arab Emirates

RESPONSIBILITIES

OVERALL:
•    As part of the SC Ventures HR team, you will operate at the intersection of strategic people advisory and hands-on execution to support the venture portfolio and enable them for success.
•    This role will also work with country and regional SCB HR teams to ensure any local market nuances are acknowledged and/or relevant support is provided.  
•    In addition to the HRBP specialist requirements, this role may need to support the broader SCV HR team in supporting platform activities, operationalising ventures and contributing to any redesign of our approach as the function evolves  

Strategy
•    Translate business and operating model requirements into role-specific skill, capability, and proficiency frameworks.
•    Define and maintain role architectures across job families, including role purpose, accountabilities, to support the broader talent agenda
•    Establish critical skills vs. adjacent vs. emerging skills for each role, aligned to strategic priorities, linked to current and future organisation design.  
•    Conduct skills gap analyses at role, team, function, and enterprise levels using multiple data sources (assessments, performance data, manager input, business plans).
•    Identify current vs. future-state capability requirements driven by technology, market shifts, or regulatory change.
•    Prioritize skills gaps based on business impact, risk, and scarcity.
•    Develop insights on build / buy / borrow / automate decisions for closing gaps.

Business
•    Effectively partner with, challenge and influence founders to create comprehensive people plans, deliver the right outcomes on people-related decisions, focusing on key agenda items such as talent attraction and team culture
•    Be a disruptor, driving culture change and delivering change initiatives in our ventures
•    Solve problems and get to the root cause of issues – design and quickly implement solutions
•    Provide advice on country-specific implications of building a venture as an employing entity
•    Provide expertise and resolve complex issues in the following areas: talent management, performance management, career planning, data analysis, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs, and strategic development

Processes
•    Identify areas for improvement in HR processes, providing feedback and escalating issues where appropriate to relevant COEs to enhance client experience and improve productivity within HR

People & Talent
•    Develop and deploy an effective talent strategy to ensure high-quality talent pipelines exist for critical roles within the ventures, in conjunction with SCV Resourcing.  
•    Play an active role in key talent decisions, including senior hiring and the HR Lead role
•    Collaborate with colleagues within HR, including Country HR teams and COEs, to facilitate the creation and ongoing development of the venture as an employing entity
•    Act as HR Lead if necessary for the venture, until the new HR Lead is hired and then onboard and continue to support them
•    Foster a culture of experimentation, creativity, inclusiveness, and craftsmanship across SCV HR.

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

•    Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Qualifications

•    Minimum 8-10’ progressive experience in People / HR, with exposure across HR topics - org design, talent acquisition, and talent development
•    Ideally a mix of strategic consulting and hands-on operational execution within the People domain
•    Demonstrated experience working in both, startup/venture environments and larger corporate organisations 
•    Track record of advising ventures across industry sectors in Asia, building talent pipelines, designing roles/structures, scaling teams and building communities

 

Preferred
•    Experience in venture building and working with founding teams.  
•    Exposure to AI-driven product design, design for regulated industries, or complex service environments.
•    Experience collaborating with multiple HR and business stakeholders
