Job Summary

The Head of AI Platform will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining a robust AI infrastructure that supports Standard Chartered’s AI and machine learning initiatives. This role demands deep expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC), Kubernetes, DevOps, and MLOps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with frameworks like MLFlow, Kubeflow, and RunAI, ensuring integration, deployment, and management of AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of a scalable AI and ML platform infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. 
  • Best Practices: Ensure best practices in software development, code quality, testing, and documentation. 
  • Framework Adoption: Drive the adoption of AI and ML frameworks such as MLFlow, Kubeflow, and Unity Catalog. 
  • Platform Security: Understand and implement platform security measures, including threat modeling and security frameworks, to protect AI and ML assets. 
  • IT Integration: Ensure seamless integration of IT operations with the AI platform, optimizing for performance and reliability. 
  • Infrastructure as Code: Utilize IaC principles to automate the provisioning and management of AI infrastructure using tools like Terraform. 
  • Containerization & Kubernetes: Implement and manage containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • DevOps & MLOps: Understand and integrate with DevOps and MLOps practices to streamline the development, deployment, and monitoring of AI models. 
  • Cloud & On-Premise Deployments: Manage hybrid cloud and on-premise platform deployments, ensuring scalability and efficiency. 
  • Innovation & Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, cloud computing, and infrastructure technologies, continuously improving the platform. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the platform meets the needs of various AI projects. 
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. 
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the AI platform, aligning with the company's overall AI strategy.

Our Ideal Candidate

 

  • 15+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, and platform development, with a focus on AI and machine learning environments. 
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes). 
  • Strong proficiency in DevOps and MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and MLFlow. 
  • Deep understanding of threat modeling and security frameworks to protect AI and ML infrastructure. 
  • Expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and experience in managing hybrid cloud environments. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative solutions to complex challenges. 
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a team of engineers. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. 

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Hands on with AI Platform Development with experience in IaC and cloud service providers
  • Experience on MLOps, LLMOps and RAGOps
  • Hands-on experience with working on Cloud and On Premises Platforms
  • Experience with design and implementation and deploying infrastructure at scle
  • Programming languages such as Python
