Job Summary
• Own and lead the Data Management & Governance agenda for the Transaction Banking (TB) business flowing from the Data Conduct Policy and its related Standards:

• Act as the voice, eyes and ears of the Transaction Banking for all matters related to data risk.
• Create and maintain complete, accurate and targeted metrics to allow assessment of the control environment and residual risk profile for data management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Sit on the CIB Data Leadership Team
• Partner with the CIB Chief Data Office team and TB Data Architects to define data architecture, strategy and design principles. Coordinate / oversee implementation of such principles in Transaction Banking.
• Partner with the CIB CDO team to define the operating model for data between the business, Operations, technology, 2LOD and CDO.
Business & Process
• Lead / co-ordinate all Data Conduct initiatives across TB, working in close partnership with Group / Regional Cash, Trade and Channels business teams on execution of specific deliverables and ensuring the TB approach is coherent and efficient.
• Work with CIB CDO team and architecture teams to develop a “tools and capabilities” stack of enablers needed to build in a sustainable way, providing a means to automate and digitise data operations within TB.
• Face off to the CIB CDO team to ensure TB alignment on Group and CIB Strategy, Data Architecture, and Design of data principles
• Align to the CIB approach in the way data risks are managed across TB e.g. approach for data sovereignty in performing data discovery
• Run a central office for DQ, RAI, Records Management, Privacy and Sovereignty to ensure consistent adoption of applicable Standards across TB
• Ensure TB data domain owners fulfil their responsibilities as per Group and CIB framework and standards
• Act as the TB single point of contact on regulatory and internal initiatives (e.g. Data Standards implementation) that impact the wider TB footprint e.g. Data Sovereignty, Records Management, Data Quality and BCBS 239 working with respective business leads
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes/ updates in the Data Management space through participation in the CIB Data Council and engagement with the CIB CDO team as well as discussion with 2LOD
• Ensure the change management process in TB follows expected controls in determining any impact to onward compliance to Regulations or bank Standards
People & Talent
• Create a unified Data Management Capabilities and Services model for TB. Liaise with CIB counterparts to identify areas of commonality and opportunities for synergy.
• Build, develop and lead a high performing team implement operating and engagement models which enable the team’s effectiveness on the ground.
• Harness a data competent first line team inside TB ensuring Data Management staff are DCAM certified and adequate succession planning is in place within the central team.
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values, embedding a high level of team engagement
• Set the appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
• Ensure training and education needs for TB staff are identified, aligning with the Group and CIB CDO organisation on minimum requirements
• Ensure ongoing training and development for professional and personal growth for self and team
• Set and monitor job objectives for direct reports and ensure job descriptions are maintained.
• Provide feedback and reward in line with individual performance against the identified responsibilities and objectives.
• Review team structure and capacity plans in accordance with change in business structure and demand
Risk Management
• Lead the book of work to remediate regulatory and audit commitments TB has across the footprint, ensuring close alignment to the CIB CDO team
• Act as the TB single point of contact with the Group and CIB CDO teams in monitoring risk reduction / regulatory compliance levels. Ensure ownership of tasks are allocated to the correct Group business or Regional representatives for action.
• Partner with Risk Framework Owners/Process Owners to ensure First Line Business & Functions perform Risk & Controls Self-Assessment (“RCSA”) at the required frequency intervals provide healthy challenge to the risk assessments performed where required and assess adequacy of controls / in managing their Data risk
• Lead co-ordination of feedback to CFCR and other 2LOD on any changes being proposed to the data policies and underlying standards that impact TB.
• Ensure TB Process Owners have adequate treatment plans in place to address any Data Risk elevations providing assurance and challenge that remediation is fit for purpose and in line with Group Standards requirements. Ensure risks are appropriately prioritised against other risk types.
Governance
• Take ownership of updates into the TB NFRC and CIB Data Council and relevant senior committees as required, e.g. CIBRC, Group Data Council or other adhoc management updates.
• Ensure Data Conduct key control metrics, risk appetite and overall risk profile are actively monitored, reviewed and reported across the TB Business and regions. Escalate risks to management or relevant committees in a timely manner. Make recommendations for improvements/changes based on the developed insights
• Produce MI / Reporting on Data Management that can be consumable for CIB NFRC and other risk committees. Rollout and enhance CIB aligned templates for monitoring and reporting of data risks / regulations across governance committees.

Our Ideal Candidate
• 10+ years industry experience in Data Management.
• Masters or Bachelor’s degree
• Thought leadership and proven ability to lead and manage various teams globally and effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk governance frameworks & quality framework and processes
• Subject matter expertise in governance and related operations
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies
• Proactive and positive with the ability to make good/sound decisions and use independent judgement
• Project and Program Management skills to monitor specific projects and take ownership of issues/ tasks.
• Knowledge of all segments in the Transaction Banking business and activities with a broad understanding of CIB Banking business
• Ability to create effective work relationships across functions & borders
• Interpersonal skills in networking, influencing and decision taking
• Good presentation, time management, negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Can work independently to strict timeframes
