The Head of Risk and CFCR (the “Functions”) Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Transformation will be part of and on the leadership team of the Strategy and Digital Transformation team that sits within the COO organisation covering Risk, CFCR and Legal & CoSec. This individual will be responsible for transformation (including digital) related to non-financial risk-types, including Operational, Technology and ICS. They will partner with the product and domain heads of those risk-types to develop and execute strategies that are aligned with the overall Risk and CFCR strategies as well as that of the Bank. 

 

This role also requires leading the design and delivery of funded investment initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Functions’ and Bank’s objectives. The role combines strategic leadership with implementation and delivery to align risk practices, organisational structures, processes and people with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements to enhance risk management capabilities and foster a culture of proactive and dynamic risk management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    Spearhead the transformation of non-financial risk management processes to enhance operational resilience and risk culture
•    Develop and implement transformation roadmaps for Non-Financial Risk types, aligned with the Functions’ and Bank’s strategic goals
•    Support the design, re-design and operationalisation of change to non-financial risk frameworks, policies, and controls methodologies and processes to address emerging risks, regulatory changes and optimisation opportunities.

 

Business
•    Collaborate with senior management, regulators, and internal stakeholders to drive a unified risk management approach
•    Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure awareness and understanding of non-financial risk management practices

 

Performance Monitoring:
•    Establish and align metrics for tracking progress on transformation initiatives and provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders

Change Management:
•    Drive cultural shifts within the organization to promote accountability and awareness of non-financial risks at all levels
•    Ensure sustainability of changes through training programs and stakeholder engagement.

 

People & Talent
•    Provide leadership across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of transformation projects
•    Work with colleagues to drive digitisation of frameworks, policies, standards and processes to improve traceability of regulations to policies, controls and standards
•    Ensure close collaboration between risk functions and business units to minimize silos and optimize resource allocation
•    Ensure development and growth plans are in place and are actively managed by team members
•    Provide timely, direct feedback to team members

 

Governance
•    Oversee the entire lifecycle of incremental and transformation change initiatives related to non-Financial Risk Types, including requirements definition, design, build, implementation and handover to BAU
•    Responsible for delivery of FFG/IC/TC-funded initiatives to ensure business case requirements and benefits are achieved within scope, time and budget on behalf of AE / Sponsor
•    Work closely with Product Owners, Technology, Architecture, 1LoD and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are complete and delivered on schedule, in scope and with high quality
•    Responsible for adhering to all Bank-defined governance requirements and process, including conducting Refinement Forums, contributing to QPR reporting, ensuring timely updates are provided into the golden source (currently Clarity) and evidencing benefits delivered
•    Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues, escalating when necessary and providing transparent updates to key stakeholders 
•    Run quarterly planning sessions, including partners and stakeholders to conduct retrospective reviews and line up work for next quarter

•    Contribution to execution and supervision of Change Delivery process

 

Risk Management
•    Identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the Group related to non-Financial Risk Transformation
•    Awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role of SDT and the Head of Non-Financial Risk Transformation in managing them

Our Ideal Candidate


•    10+ years of relevant experience in a financial services setup specifically in non-financial risk transformation.  

•    Education - A bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, economics, accounting, finance, management, engineering, IT, or a related field and ideally an advanced degree such as MBA

•    Certifications     Non-Financial Risk Management, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), project management (e.g., PMP), digital strategy (e.g., TOGAF)
