Title: Head of Development, Credit Risk Technology

JOB SUMMARY
This is one-year contract role
Role Overview:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of technology solutions for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) aggregation and collateral modelling. Responsible for technical strategy, architecture, and team leadership to ensure robust, scalable, and regulatory-compliant CCR platforms.Define and execute CCR technology roadmap and architecture.
Oversee design, development, and deployment of CCR platforms and applications.
Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams across multiple locations.
Ensure solutions meet regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements.
Drive adoption of best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and agile delivery.
Monitor emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
Collaborate with stakeholders in Risk, Product, and Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
The successful candidate will play a leading role in the delivery of multiple highly visible strategic Credit Risk Program’s with the primary responsibilities around Development activities.
The candidate will be a natural leader and mentor with a driven yet pragmatic, delivery focused mindset and a desire to deliver constant business value through the effective and innovative use of technology. The candidate will be expected to take ownership, responsibility, and accountability for critical deliveries.
The candidate will work closely with the other team members and senior stakeholders to design and implement critical strategic solutions whilst collaborating and engaging with Business Stakeholders to deliver to exact requirements. The candidate is expected to work in a dynamic global team with developers, project managers, business stakeholders and other technical experts across multiple locations.
Business
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department and projects.
• Play an active role in defining and improving the project and the application.
• Understanding of financial markets business – front/middle/back office
• Proven exposure over a number of years of large project/programme involvement in financial markets
Processes
• Deployment automation and monitoring of the application.
• Developing appropriate solutions for the application based on the requirements.
People & Talent
• A motivated self-starter with ability to multitask but requires minimal supervision to meet challenging targets.
• Able to operate both independently and as a team player with collaborative attitude.
• Strong analytical skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in a numerate subject (e.g. science or engineering degree).
• Maintain high productivity in a fast-paced environment showing effective prioritization skills.
Technical knowledge
• Excellent Java knowledge and experience in developing scalable, multi-threaded applications.
• Proficiency in software architecture, microservices, and API design.
• Good understanding of ELK stack.
• Understanding of Cloud based deployment strategies and tools like OpenShift, Kubernetes, public cloud.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Basel III/IV, FRTB, etc.).
• Experience with integration of market data, trade data, and agreement details.
• Knowledge and experience of working on streaming based solution like using Kafka.
• Good understanding of OO design principles and patterns.
• UNIX and Windows development experience.
• Understanding of SQL queries and database objects

Our Ideal Candidate
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or post graduate degree
- Experience: 12+ years of experience in Java, Spring boot and Microservices
