Job Summary

Commercially astute Planning and Governance lead to support a dynamic marketing function. This role sits at the centre of strategy, execution and oversight – translating ambition into structured plans, disciplined governance and measurable outcomes.

Candidate will drive annual and quarterly planning, establish effective operating rhythms and ensure clear performance tracking across priorities. Acting as a strategic partner to Global Head of CIB Marketing, you will bring rigour to decision making, proactively managing risk and dependencies and create clarity in a fast moving and complex environment.

Ideal candidate combines structured thinking with strong stakeholder influence understands commercial dynamics and thrives in ambiguity. Experience in Financial Services, transformation, strategy or PMO environments will be advantageous.

This is a high-visible role for someone who enjoys building order from complexity and enabling teams to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities

On Governance responsibilities
This role is the go-to lead on all governance, ops-risk (CABM) matters, and therefore need to ensure compliance across CIB marketing. This includes ensuring the teams across all clusters are aware and understand their role in ensuring compliance to CABM risks areas (including Process Universe, Supply Chain Management etc) – from timely submissions to ensuring regulatory and risk management in good conduct as required. 
On Planning responsibilities
This role also support the CIB Marketing head in performance management, impact planning and reporting – working with the teams to ensure objectives / KPIs are met – including scorecards tracking and reporting, the development and execution of the strategic agenda (CABM strategy, people & talent) and budgeting / forecast.

Strategy
•    Awareness and understanding of the CABM function strategy and scorecard and how it applies in cluster and in country. 

Business
•    Awareness and understanding of the wider business and how CABM support their objectives. 

Processes
•    Responsible for executing and supervising the Budget process and conformance to Operational Risk Framework. 

People and Talent
•    Support in onboarding and build appropriate cultures and values, including identifying conduct gaps, proposing long term solutions and mitigatory actions. 

Risk Management
•   Identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the CABM function, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the function and the role the individual plays in managing them. Responsible person for CST for small markets without maker-checker role. Lead the clusters in annual RCSA exercise.

Governance
•    Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the cluster to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the cluster function and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. 

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders
•    Group CABM Teams, Country CABM Teams. Business Marketing Teams. 

Other Responsibilities
•    Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in ASA CABM; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats) 

Qualifications

•    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree (including banking and finance, Marketing, accounting or related fields)    
•    LANGUAGES: Business Communication

Skills and Experience

Our Ideal Candidate:

.•    10+ years’ experience leading transformation initiatives and continuous improvement across business functions, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities. 
•    Lead governance and operational risk (RCSA, controls, CST) and ensure regulatory and conduct compliance. 
•    Design and maintain effective governance forums, processes and documentation. 

.•   Strong expertise in managing scorecards, KPIs and performance reporting is required 
•    Hands on experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for marketing spend, providing insight to decisions. 
•    Produce high‑quality MI, dashboards and insight from marketing and performance data. 

•    Apply strong project / PMO disciplines and influence senior stakeholders, bringing structure and clarity in complex, ambiguous environments.
