JOB SUMMARY

Role Requirements:

  • This role is expected to lead the full tribe of development squads working on the multiple aspects of this domain and future strategic areas (on smart contracts and tokenization).  
  • Trusted business partner to manage multiple programs & projects within this domain.  Provide technical leadership and guidance in Digital Ledger Technologies (DLT) related solutioning. 
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in Digital Ledger Technologies (DLT) related solutioning.
  • Build & maintain blockchain protocols, smart contracts, tokenization modules and consensus algorithms.
  • Ensure security, integrity, and scalability of blockchain solutions.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in blockchain and cryptocurrency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in blockchain applications and systems.
  • Suggest blockchain development processes and best practices.
  • Understand enterprise integration patterns, suggest, and collaborate with other departments to provide appropriate solutions based on business requirements.  
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, security, scalability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Represent the Platforms TTO organization in various review forums, including but not limited solution architects, security architects, networking and data centre teams, compliance, legal, regulators, product partners and clients as required.

 

Skill Requirements:

  • 15 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise solutions. 
  • 5 years of experience in designing and implementing DLT / Blockchain solutions.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technologies, distributed ledger, and smart contracts and tokenization flows.
  • Knowledge of cryptography and blockchain protocols.
  • Familiarity with P2P networks, zero knowledge proofs, staking and consensus algorithms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of financial services, payments, and cryptocurrency industries.
  • A strong understanding of security best practices for building enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Solidity, Daml, Java, JavaScript, Rust, NodeJS, Go, or Python.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS or Azure)
  • Experience with DevOps practices (Ci /CD)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Design, Plan and Deploy the Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) platform. Ensure legacy and future blockchain/ DLT solutions are offered strategically off the BaaS platform. 

Business

  • This is at a minimum a pan-CIB responsibility and likely a pan-Bank responsibility. The tech lead needs to constantly keep the needs of multiple CIB (and bank wide) businesses in mind to ensure the platform is fit for use across use case.

Processes

  • Embed the ESDLC standards throughout the lifecycle of the product.
  • Understand the process requirements (group, regional, regulatory) based on the type of solution and guide the team to plan and deliver the requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a process to distribute work and manage efficiency within the hive.

People & Talent

  • A leader who can motivate and navigate the team through stressful periods.
  • Responsible for effective capacity management to deliver the business needs.
  • An engineer at heart who can guide the team on challenging problems.
  • Accountable for capability development of the team
  • Monitor team performance regularly and help them to improve where necessary.
     

Risk Management

  • Drive for closure of risks and audit / operational findings on time.
  • Responsible for effective capacity management to drive risks to closure.
  • Motivate the team to avoid deploying solutions with risks (manual or temporary fixes)
  • Educate the team on the need for continuous management of risks.

Governance

  • Ensure all artefacts are compliant with all applicable SC governance frameworks (e.g., ESDLC, Cloud Governance, etc.)
  • Stay aware and updated on the applicable governance framework based on group and regional policies.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
