Job Summary
We are inviting a passionate software developer to be part of an exciting journey within the Wealth banking space and one of the leading global banks.
You will be a full-stack developer, working as an Individual Contributor, which means that you are an expert and hands-on developer, specializing in front-end or back-end, with at least intermediate level experience in the stack that is outside your specialisation. This means you are an expert front-end developer (e.g. any JavaScript/TypeScript based library), and you have intermediate experience in back-end development (e.g. Java, Kotlin, etc.) as well. You will be a member of a squad and will also work closely with the Product Owners and influence the direction and roadmap of the product you are working on.
Although you may have a preferred language and framework to work with, we love to keep an open mind. With Standard Chartered, you will have the opportunity to learn new techniques, programming languages and frameworks to get the job done.

People & Talent
- Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values.
- As expert developer, you will coach other team members “on the job” and manage by influence, as you will not have any direct reports assigned to you.
Risk Management
- Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles
Our Ideal Candidate
- Professional hands-on developer with 12+ years experience
- Advanced to Expert level knowledge in Java, with focus on APIs using Spring Boot or any other equivalent back-end library
- Advanced to Expert level knowledge in JavaScript/Typescript, with extensive experience in one of the big front-end frameworks like React, Angular, VueJS, etc.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Test Automation (Unit/Function/End to End) with a Test Driven Development mindset
- Expert in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
- Advanced in RDBMS and/or No-SQL
Role Specific Technical Competencies
- JavaScript/TypeScript or Java/Kotlin
- ReactJS or any other Front-end Framework or Spring Boot or any other equivalent back-end library
- Source Code Management
- RDBMS and No-SQL
