When you start the application process you will be presented with a drop down menu showing all countries, Please ensure that you select a country where the role is based.We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in Financial Risk Management, in particular Prime Services, to join our team to provide Second Line oversight of SC Ventures’ (“SCV”) Prime Services related activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements across market, credit, operational, Capital and liquidity risks associated with Prime Services business.  Risk Management experience of derivatives and digital assets is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    Steer the development of the Prime Services initiative with strategic risk assessment and appropriate framework, policies and standards across the delegated Principle Risk Types that aligns with the company's strategic objectives as well as Standard Chartered (SC) Group and regulatory requirements.
•    Lead the review of the risk appetite for the Prime Services initiative and advise appropriate risk adjusted returns.

Business
•    Lead the business in proactive identification and management of risk, aligning with the wider strategic intent and collective agenda for the Prime Services initiative.
•    Provide the business with risk mitigation advise and assist both the business and SC Group in capital impact analysis.
•    Lead the business golive

 

Processes
•    Propose risk controls across the delegated Principle Risk Types and direct the implementation of the controls.
•    Continuously improve the control environment, operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes relating to the delegated Principle Risk Types.
•    Direct the effective management of risks and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations across SCV for delegated Risk Types
•    Lead the risk exposure monitoring within SCV for delegated financial risk types.

People & Talent
•    Create a culture of continuous learning and development within the business and SCV Risk
•    Create an open environment to stimulate creativity and develop innovative solutions to supports SCV and Group’s aspirations.
•    Live and demonstrate the Group’s values in the daytoday.

Risk Management
•    Challenge the business on risk identification relating to the business activity (e.g. Execution, Securities Financing) across delegated Principle Risk Types and products.
•    Lead the review and challenge of business proposal on Limits and Risk Appetite. 
•    Lead the regular oversight of the risk exposure relating to the business against delegated Limits and Risk Appetite.

Governance
•    Maintain a good understanding of risk governance requirements of key external and internal stakeholders for delegated Risk Types and ensure that these are well understood.
•    Lead policy effectiveness review relating to the business activity.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
•    Education     Minimum of Degree or other advanced education.
•    Training      Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management in financial services, preferably within the Prime Services industry.  Experience with derivatives and digital assets trading is a plus.
•    Strong knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements across market, credit, operational, and liquidity risks associated with prime service
•    Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and strategies.
•    Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
•    Strong leadership and team management abilities.
•    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
•    High level of integrity, ethical standards, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.     
•    Certifications     Financial Risk Management is a plus
