Title: Lead Data Scientist - AI

JOB SUMMARY
- We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist with strong data and analytical skills, specializing in AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will be responsible for managing all aspects of new projects, from inception to delivery. This includes thorough assessments of any new work or projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee stages of AI and LLM Projects, from initial assessment to final delivery.
- Build and maintain close working relationships with the business and Functions process owners to gather specific modeling requirements and define the scope of work.
- Collaborate closely with internal staff, clients, and third parties to ensure project success.
- Develop and implement advanced models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Lead a team of data scientists and provide guidance on best practices and methodologies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and LLM technologies and apply them to enhance project outcomes.
Strategy
- Delivering, building and maintaining the Data Driven solutions that are core to Group Operations strategy.
- Accelerate the adoption and implementation of AI solutions across the bank to drive efficiency, innovation and competitive advantage.
Business
- Design Machine Learning, Natural Language and Decision Optimisation applications architecture.
- Design ML, NLP and DO models, algorithms for predictive & prescriptive analytics.
- Translate business requirements to reporting dashboard and analytics.
- Perform advanced analytics and statistical modeling on structured and unstructured data.
- Work with software engineers to integrate and deploy AI applications.
- Support the business with clear and insightful analysis applying advanced modeling techniques leveraging the data at hand.

- Respond to and resolve data mining performance issues. Monitor data mining system performance and implement efficiency improvements.

- Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
Our Ideal Candidate
- 8 years of experience working with data
- Involved in the AI or data science field for the last 5 years
- Preferably higher education in one of the following fields: Math / Quantitative Methods / Econometrics / Information Systems, Physics.
- Solid experience in at least one of the following programming languages: Python or R.
- Experience in application of statistics, classification, regression, segmentation and dimensionality reduction methods and preferably in any of the following data science related areas: econometrics, time-series analysis, optimization methods, Bayesian statistics, natural language processing.
- Solid understanding of most of the following algorithms: linear regression, logistic regression, decision and regression trees, random forest, boosting algorithms (e.g.: XGBoost), k-means, hierarchical clustering and principal component analysis.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of the following data science concepts
Role Specific Technical Competencies
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. GIT).
- Experience in cloud technologies.
- Experience in ML Ops.
- Experience with ETL and data engineering.
- Experience with Spark and other big data technologies.
- Knowledge of graph databases and knowledge graph applications in data science is a plus (e.g. Neo4j).
