JOB SUMMARY

As a Prompt Engineer your responsibilities include working with our content creators, product teams and data scientists to develop and refine prompts, optimizing prompt performance and staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI, natural language processing and machine learning.

Ultimately, you will be hands on working directly with Development teams to create and improve prompts that enable more efficient usage of Github copilot.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Rapid Prompt Developing and Refinement  - Develop and refine prompts to achieve specific coding goals, such as generating code snippets, fixing bugs, or writing unit tests. 

•    Context and Constraint Management - Understand how to provide Copilot with the necessary context (e.g., code base, language, framework) and constraints (e.g., specific libraries, coding style) to guide its suggestions. 

•    Prompt Experimentation and Testing - Conduct experiments to evaluate different prompt strategies and identify best practices. 

•    Prompt Documentation and Library Creation - Create and maintain a library of effective prompts or prompt chains for various tasks. 

•    User Education and Training - Develop tutorials and resources to help developers learn and improve their prompt engineering skills. 

•    Feedback and Iteration - Analyze Copilot's responses and identify areas for improvement, suggesting updates to the model or prompting techniques.

•    Team Collaborate – Collaborate with product teams, data scientists, and engineers to understand user needs and translate them into effective prompts.

•    Prompt Experiments: Conduct experiments and research to test new prompting techniques and optimize existing workflows.

•    Keeping ahead on Strategy: Stay up to date on the latest advancements in national language processing (NLP) and AI, and apply those insights to your work.

•    Documenting to enable sharing of knowledge and Best Practices - Document and communicate your work clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences for future reference.

Strategy 
•    Supports Hive Tech Lead, Product Area Lead and Engineering in strategy of prompt engineering and roadmap and execution
•    Deliver outputs that make a significant contribution to the organization's strategic goals.
•    Partner with Strategic Partner (i.e. Microsoft and others)  to determine the right solutions to business needs.

Business
•    Promote engineering craftmanship and focus on delivering business value.
•    Responsible for technical delivery and technical excellence across the squads. 
•    Works across multiple squads or hives for delivery of complex Features, Epics & Releases.
•    Point of escalation for delivery issues across all impacted hives and squads.
•    Work with Change Delivery Manager (Release Manager) to develop delivery and release plans with technical dependencies, aligning all partners with support from the team and architect.
•    Exhibit passion for client experience with a user-first mindset.
•    Drive the domain towards future state of banking and technology.
•    Ensure the technical consistency of solutions in the Hive with the business architecture, technology architecture and enterprise technology standards.

Processes
•    Study existing engineering processes and contribute to improvements to drive up efficiencies. Present ideas across other areas and foster innovation.
•    Analyze, remove, or mitigate dependencies across teams to enable speed and quality of delivery.
•    Responsible in the preparation of production outputs and their planning in alignment to ESDLC standards. 

People & Talent
•    Work on upskilling of technical expertise of the Engineers to enable them to become more efficient in Prompts they use day-to-day. 
•    Mentoring and training the squad on technical skills to become good Prompt Engineers 

Risk Management
•    Mitigate delivery risks and issues, and ensure quality, affordability, and scope of delivery.

Governance
•    Support the remediation of  tech compliance (ESDLC) requirements through the delivery lifecycle (design reviews, security reviews, code reviews, SAT, OAT, etc.) with support from HTL(Hive Tech Lead) / PO / CPO (Chief Product Owner)

Our Ideal Candidate

 

  • 10+ year Engineering experience in building data-driven applications and  2+ years as prompt engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of NLP concepts and techniques.
  • Experience working with large language models and other AI systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for language and storytelling.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems, adapting to new challenges and changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to evaluate and optimize prompts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and scripting skills are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, linguistics, writing, or a related field.
