POSITION SUMMARY

This is a Managing Director level appointment reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, based in either Singapore or Hong Kong.  We are seeking a highly accomplished Chief Investment Officer to lead our Fixed Income and FX strategy within the CIO Office.  This role is responsible for:

•    Leading a team of Fixed Income and FX strategists to deliver high quality and timely ideas to the frontline and to clients on opportunities and risks in Fixed Income, FX and commodity markets.  
•    Leading the FX and Fixed Income discussions in the Global Investment Committee meetings, ensuring high quality input. 
•    Collaborating with teams within the CIO Office to deliver high quality publications and presentation materials.
•    Serving as the leading voice and visible representative of our Fixed Income, FX and Commodities platform - both internally and with clients - and elevating the Bank’s Wealth Solutions proposition through thought leadership, publications, media interviews, client presentations and social media engagement. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CIO Office/Wealth Solutions profile
•    Collaborate with the Global CIO and peers to promote the CIO Office capabilities across the Affluent spectrum, especially within the Private Bank. 
•    Define and deliver a refreshed FX strategy to improve our capabilities across the franchise, especially within the Private Bank
•    Refine and improve the Fixed Income strategy offering and communication within the Private Bank. 
•    Develop a following within the Private Bank via presentation and client interactions. 

Global Investment Committee 
•    Lead the conversation on the FX and Fixed Income market outlook, unearthing and sharing diverse perspectives without trying to convince different investment committee members of a certain view
•    Ask probing questions in FX, Fixed Income and other areas to uncover different perspectives and help other GIC members to gain a better understanding of the views being presented 
•    Deliver alpha in your personal views. 

FX Output
•    Ensure high quality and timely trades/conviction calls on currency pairs and structured product ideas. 
•    Track and report the performance of our recommendations in a consistent manner. 
•    Deliver a consistent high quality of communication materials. 
•    Develop content that is easily accessible to the frontline and clients, especially within the Private Bank. 
•    Actively promote the CIO Office’s FX advisory offering to RMs and IAs in a consistent way

Fixed Income Output
•    Ensure high quality of our bond recommendations at the single security level.  
•    Track and report the performance of our recommendations in a consistent manner. 
•    Deliver a consistent high quality of communication materials. 
•    Act in an advisory capacity for our DPM offering. 
•    Actively promote the CIO Office’s Fixed Income advisory offering to RMs and IAs in a consistent way

Cross-asset publications 
•    Ensure high quality and timely FX, Fixed Income and Commodity input into our cross-asset publications. 
•    Provide feedback to other team members in order to improve the quality of the cross-asset sections of publications. 

Governance:
•    Ensure the FX and Fixed Income Strategy teams are aware of and follows the highest level of governance standards and ethical behaviour. 

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

•    Global, North Asia and AMEE CIOs to ensure the consistency of messaging across all publications 
•    Regional Private Bank Heads (GCNA, ASA and AMEE): To ensure the team’s/third party output is fit for purpose. 
•    Private Bank Market Heads to ensure we deliver our content to UHNW clients through meetings and presentations
•    Compliance & Risk Management Teams: Partnering with these teams to ensure that the DPM business adheres to regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.

Other Responsibilities

•    Stay updated on global market trends, regulatory changes, and investment opportunities that may impact the FX and Fixed Income strategy function. 
•    Ensure any suggested changes to the Fixed Income and FX Strategy offering are relevant for the business and integrated into digital platforms as appropriate. 

Our Ideal Candidate
•    Experience: Minimum of 20 years of Fixed Income, FX and/or Rates experience, including a strong background macroeconomics. 
•    Education: University degree in finance, economics, or related. CFA qualification is an advantage.
•    Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of FX and Fixed Income pricing models, market sentiment, risk management, and financial markets. 
•    Mindset: Self-starter with a strong drive to shape and develop the role and deliver required sales results while maintaining excellent collaboration.
