- GIA is an independent function whose primary role is to help the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the Group. GIA will adhere to the Definition of Internal Auditing, the Core Principles for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, Code of Ethics and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing that are published by the Institution of Internal Auditing (IIA). All members of GIA strive to operate as role models for the Group’s valued behaviours.
- The GIA Chief Operations Officer (COO)’s team supports the GIA COO in management of the GIA function. The role of Manager, Risk Assessment & Planning Insight (GIA, COO), works within the GIA COO team, to provide of analytics, insight and visualisation to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of GIA risk assessment and planning processes and outcomes. Specifically:
- Aligned to GIAs functional strategy, develop and influence GIA to improve the consistency and quality of reporting through data led analysis and insight.
- Maintain strong relationships with the GIA Leadership Team to influence/change behaviours to ensure risk assessment is a continuous activity as opposed to annual/bi-annual input to the planning process. Inspire and engage all stakeholders (MT to every auditor) to develop a continuous improvement mindset for risk assessment, reinforcing its value and purpose.
- Develop the report writing skills and visualisation skills of the team through coaching, mentoring, and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Awareness of both Bank and GIA strategy to align the outcomes of the Audit Universe, Risk Assessment and Audit Planning methodology and processes, with the aim of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of GIAs coverage across the Group.
- Awareness of the Group’s risk management framework and approach and the role of GIA in the framework.
- Understand the GIA audit methodology and the principal risks impacting the bank.
- Demonstrate flexibility in the risk assessment and audit planning approach to meet the evolving requirements of the risks associated with the audit universe.
- Provide timely, effective and impactful insights to our Audit Leadership team through data analysis of Risk Assessment and Audit Planning MI (using tools like Power BI and Tableau).
- Develop and implement solutions that enhance awareness and engagement of GIA staff to the methodology, including delivery of training to uplift the quality of risk assessment and audit planning.
- Support the COO team in managing the audit risk generated through risk assessments and audit planning. This will be achieved through development and assessment against clear principles and standards to improve the quality, consistency, and timing of our audit planning.
- Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
- Awareness of policies applicable to all Bank users and specific to GIA. Consult timely with the responsible persons to gain better knowledge of the risks involved with specific process Governance (like data sharing).
- Embed the Group’s values and Code of Conduct in Group Internal Audit to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations among employees’ form part of the culture.
Skills and Experience
Our Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of relevant experience in auditing or risk management backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of risk management framework in financial or banking institution.
- Strong data analytics and visualisation skills and the use of PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools (i.e. not just Excel) for storytelling of insights to colleagues.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Education A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Statistics) is preferred.
