Title: Manager, Valuation Methodology

JOB SUMMARY
Valuation Methodology (VM) team is the Subject Matter Expert with respect to the fair valuation of the Bank’s positions in Global Markets and Banking, and ensuring the (stress) prudent regulatory requirements are met. The main responsibilities of this role are:
• Set up and maintain the DQM (Deterministic Quantitative Method) framework for Global Markets and Banking Valuation Methodology team.
• Collaborate with model validation, model risk governance and VM production teams to ensure that all the calculations performed by VM team are compliant with internal governance and regulatory requirements.
• Provide valuation support including advice on new product initiatives, deal pipeline and potential impact on valuations and respond to requests for ad-hoc analysis and reports.
• Define and implement the methodologies used in valuation space. For example: Independent Price Verification, Bid Offer reserve, Prudent Valuation Adjustments...etc.
• Prepare the technical development documents for the calculations performed by VM team and submit to model validation team for review and challenge.
• Perform the PVA Stress Testing (ICAAP or BoE) and prepare the model use test report.
• Automate and streamline the processes within VM to drive the evolution of the valuation ecosystem.

• Continuously review and improve the valuation policies and methodologies to align with evolving regulatory and market requirements.

• Provide independent price verification for front-office valuations to ensure accuracy and transparency.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain compliance with accounting, internal model governance and regulatory requirements.

• Drive the evolution of the valuation ecosystem and reduce the operational risk.

• Identify, measure, or monitor valuation risks.
• Ensure robust controls for fair value adjustments, price testing and prudent valuation adjustments, especially during period of stress or illiquidity.

• Maintain functional independence from the front office, ensuring unbiased oversights of valuations.
• Be aware of and familiar with the evolving regulatory and internal governance frameworks relevant to valuation methodology team and the role.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in valuation, front office, market risk or a related quantitative area within Global Markets environment.
• Previous experiences in valuation control and financial modelling are required.
• Deep and comprehensive understanding of a wide range of Global Markets products (both vanilla and structured) and corresponding valuation techniques in Rates, FX/FXO, Commodities, Equities, Credit, XVA (CVA, DVA , FVA, MVA, KVA).
• Strong technical expertise in valuation methodologies, pricing models and market data sources.
• In depth understanding of the methodologies used in valuation space (FVA, PVA and IPV), and the rationale.
• Able to propose, implement and document the calculation methods (including the technical details) used in valuation control.
• Good understanding of regulatory guidance on PVA and governance around models and non-models.
• Able to interpret the regulatory/accounting requirements and translate them into practical implementation.
• Able to collaborate closely with front office quant and model validation teams on the technical aspects, with Desk on the trading practices, to justify the methodologies used in valuation control processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex information and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Independent problem-solving skill is required.
