Job Summary
Standard Chartered is investing significantly in digital transformation to improve our productivity, client and employee experience and creating capacity to reinvest in incremental growth activities. The Pan-Bank ISO20022 Programme which addresses the new global standard for High Value (HVPS) and Cross Border Payments (CBPR+) messaging. A new common language is being implemented for low value domestic schemes globally issued by the International Standards Organisation “ISO”. The programme is focussed on upgrading existing message gateways, downstream systems and define the channel and preferred messaging format received through SWIFT transaction Management Platform in line with the “Society for Worldwide International Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) programme to adopt the ISO 20022 standards.
The role reports to the Programme Director for Pan-Bank ISO and will be responsible for the management and coordination across the ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme of all Board, Group, Risk, Audit and Regulatory responses and papers, ensuring timely submissions and consistent messaging. This includes partnering the 2LOD and 3LOD teams on requests for information (RFI) from external audit partners, regulatory bodies (e.g. PRA, HKMA, MAS, FED, etc.), etc. The role will require strong skills and previous experience in preparing updates for executive level meetings, board reports or similar, along with extensive experience in working with external regulators and audit.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme Director to establish and maintain a forward-looking view of management deliverables and effectively leverage this information to set key meetings and committee agendas that inform and advance progress
- Coordinate, write and review Board, Group, Risk and Regulatory related papers, and attend relevant related internal and external meetings, where required.
- Responsible for the management and coordination across the ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme of all Board, Group, Risk, Audit and Regulatory responses and papers, ensuring timely submissions and consistent messaging. This includes partnering the 2LOD and 3LOD teams on requests for information (RFI) from external audit partners, regulatory bodies (e.g. PRA, HKMA, MAS, FED, etc.), etc.
- Responsibility for having an overview of all ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme regulatory, risk and audit topics and ensuring the Programme provides consistent and quality updates to both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Board and Group Committees, Regulators (e.g. PRA, HKMA, etc.), Auditors, etc.)
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, papers, to support discussions and decision making at various forums (e.g. Group MT, Committees).
- Maintain an active working relationship with Group Risk and Compliance to provide transparency of the ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme operations and activities, and support and coordinate on behalf of the ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme Director
- Work with the ISO 20022 Pan Bank Programme Director to establish and maintain an active repository of key follow up issues emerging from internal and external activities and ensure their effective closure.

- 10+ years of experience in Programme Management, ideally within the banking or financial sector.
