JOB SUMMARY


The Group Transformation team and Workforce Transformation Squad require a Project Manager, to lead critical people transformation projects across the bank to evolve and enhance our organisational performance, ways of working and effectiveness. 
Underpinned by our ambition and mission to standardise, simplify, and digitise the bank, the workforce transformation team plays an essential role in ensuring our people are organised effectively, realising the value across our network, and have the right skills and capabilities for today and our future. 

The role holder will lead and work across multiple critical transformation projects including but not limited to, fit for growth (FFG), GBS transformation, the creation of cross functional services and COEs, process simplification and tech simplification. 
In partnership with the all-relevant stakeholders (S&T MT, T&O MT, Business and Function Heads), this role will ensure strategic alignment and execution of our organisation wide workforce transformation plans and agenda are executed and embedded across the Group, ensuring sustained adoption and impactful measurable change. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Governance: 
•    Define clear project objectives aligned to the programme / business strategy. Agree on baseline & use agreed KPI’s with Programme Manager to quantify and measure success of the project and milestones achieved. 
•    Manage project governance through delivery of work and sprint plans, agile ceremonies, and relevant governance forums. 
•    Engage teams on the framework parameters and cascade necessary updates to required delegates. 
•    Manage and drive project delivery, as per Programme Manager direction, setup programme governance in line with group standards. i.e. CDS, E-SDLC etc.  
•    Ensure that the relevant governance and compliance requirements are met, including processes related to vendor onboarding, responsible AI, change risk assessment, cloud governance, processes design, etc. 
•    Ensure availability of all project artifacts/approvals as required for audit in central repository. 
 

Planning & Execution Support: 
•    Develop and own end-to-end project plan (schedule, budget, scope, risk, resources, etc.) and implement strong change control and outline how the project will be executed in the assigned domain. 
•    Define the key milestones, which are broken down to an appropriate level of granularity with clear timelines. 
•    Identify key roles and responsibilities within the Project & ensure that the project is adequately staffed / resourced with the appropriate capabilities throughout its lifecycle. 
•    Responsible for maintaining project resource actuals and forecasts in Clarity. 
•    Have a clear view of task-to-task dependencies that reflect the critical path of the project and identify and manage the impact of any delays.

•    Ensure that delivery approach for project is assessed for risks (e.g. planning 'Big Bang' approaches vs incremental/phased releases) and that these are managed accordingly. 
•    Monitor process implementation effectiveness, identify key areas for improvement / issues and enhance process / controls embedding for the effective management of risk including reviewing change request approvals (CRAs), go live parameters etc. 
•    Work closely with the relevant business and functional leads / POs and wider set of stakeholders to obtain status updates and determine and agree on required actions. 
•    Engage global teams on the change delivery standards, framework parameters and cascade necessary updates, rollouts across global markets as applicable. 
•    Facilitate progress tracking and visualization of work using agile metrics and tools e.g. burndown charts. 
•    Prepare project governance and review documents / reports / slides with Programme Manager & other stakeholders----- PSC pack, ToR, BRD, Project plan, Closure Report, Change Requests, PSC MoM etc as applicable to meet the highest quality standards.  
•    Manage changes to the project’s scope, schedule, costs and benefits in accordance to the prescribed change control process, whilst minimizing disruption and maximizing value. Ensure that all stakeholders are engaged as early as possible to keep informed of the changes that are coming. 

Risk & Issue Management: 
•    Maintain the project-level RAID log and ensure clear ownership and mitigation plans. 
•    Drive timely escalation and resolution of high-impact risks and issues.  
•    Track interdependencies with other projects & programmes or business units. 

 

Financial Oversight: 
•    Support the Programme Manager in managing the budget, forecasts, and actuals. 
•    Track resource allocations and ensure alignment to funding plans and benefits realization. 
•    Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency levers across delivery. 
•    Generate and review project financial reports from clarity for internal project reviews.  

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: 
•    Coordinate project-wide communications, including stakeholder engagement, briefings, and updates. 
•    Act as a central coordination point across business units, project workstreams, and external partners. 
•    Support change management efforts by aligning messaging and readiness activities.

 

Project Technology Delivery: 
•    Jointly responsible for the project’s technology implementation along with Programme Manager/ Business function/CIO. 
•    Participate in the quality management reviews, process designs, prototypes, and other requirements workbooks to ensure they fulfil stakeholder’s requirements. 
•    Work in collaboration with the technology team, design team, Architects, and others to execute delivery and meet performance goals for the change initiative / solution. 
•    Drive the project in a federated / hybrid approach, by combining traditional and agile approaches whenever required and applicable. 

Tooling & Reporting: 
•    Ensure that project data is complete, accurate and timely updated in Bank's tools / systems - Azure DevOps, Clarity, including any data remediation requirements to address data quality gaps. 
•    Develop high-quality reports, dashboards, reporting packs for executive review and insights using Clarity, ADO, Confluence, and MS Excel/PowerPoint.  
•    Interprets data to identify trends, delivery risks, and opportunities.

 

Closure & Post-Implementation Review: 
•    Ensure all project related activities have appropriate handover to BAU teams. 
•    Compile lessons learned to contribute to process improvement. 
•    Responsible for completing post-implementation review to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery against key criteria and obtain final approvals. 
•    Handover benefits management post project closure as per Programme Manager’s direction.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    10+ years of overall work experience in financial services and/or organisation and people change, with proven track record in Project Management role.

•    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Business Management or Accountancy) 
•    Training: Project Management training in PMP or equivalent. 
•    Certifications: Project Management accreditation i.e.– PMI – PMP/ PgMP/ PfMP  
•    Experience with managing Agile and waterfall projects

•    Proficient on working with project management tools – Clarity, ADO, Confluence, MS-Office (Word, PowerPoint, excel), MS-Project, MS-Planner, MS-whiteboard, etc 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral). 
•    Proficient in doing financial forecasting & budgeting. 
•    Knowledge of Bank’s policies and procedures and key risk areas/risk types such as data quality is a must.
