Portfolio Strategist within the Asset Allocation team of the Global CIO Office. The Asset Allocation team delivers advisory cross-asset investment allocations, portfolios and solutions across our wealth clients within our retail and private bank markets. Key areas of focus include the private bank and retail advisory portfolios as well as the Global Investment Committee’s House View tactical allocations across markets.
The Portfolio Strategist will be involved in the following processes: supporting the delivery of asset allocation, portfolio optimization, and risk management solutions for the private and retail segments. This includes participating in the maintenance and delivery of asset allocation process across Private and Retail bank segments, liaising with the Investment Strategy team and actively participating in the Group Investment Committee (GIC) meeting.
Key Responsibilities
Together with the team, the portfolio strategist will be responsible with the following:
• Own, maintain, and communicate the Bank’s Capital Market Assumptions (CMAs), serving as the subject matter expert on their development, methodology, and application across investment and portfolio construction processes.
• Maintain the asset allocation frameworks, & advisory reference portfolios for the private and retail bank segments including:
• The construction of the most optimal long-term Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) models for different investment objectives and risk profiles
• Adjusting SAA models to align with “House Views”, while adhering to risk and return budgets. Maintain corresponding Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) models to enable dynamic portfolio positioning
• Monitoring asset allocation and advisory reference portfolios performance against pre-decided benchmarks
• Conducting regular reviews of third-party market views to assess alignment with our positioning and maintain ongoing performance tracking of SAA and TAA models
• Provide customized asset allocation and portfolio construction advice tailored to clients’ investment objectives and goals
• Support Relationship Managers (RMs) and Investment Advisors (Ais) in serving UHNWI clients: Goal-based investment strategy design, holistic wealth consolidation, risk-return diagnostics and portfolio optimization
• Draft publications and write market commentaries related to asset allocation
• Be a strong advocate of the CIO office views via written, verbal and multi-media communication channels
Our Ideal Candidate
• 5 years+ of financial markets experience in multi-asset portfolio management, asset allocation, or investment strategy
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree Or Higher From A Reputable University
Role Specific Technical Competencies
• Strong understanding of macroeconomics and finance
• Asset Allocation Framework
• Investment & Quantitative Risk Management Techniques
• Presentation skills (power point) and English writing and communication skills
• Programming and coding (e.g. VBA, Statistical language - R Studio, AI-assisted programming)
• Ability to simplify complex investment themes for a broad-based, non-specialist audience
