Job Summary

We’re looking for a talented, motivated Apprentice to join our Priority Banking Apprenticeship Programme. Across 12 months, you’ll learn new skills, work on meaningful projects develop your knowledge and understanding of Priority Banking, which sits within our Wealth and Retail Banking business. 

About our Wealth and Retail Banking business

 

We service more than 13 million individuals and small businesses, with a focus on the affluent segment which encompasses Private Banking, Priority Private, Priority Banking, and Premium. In the mass retail space, we're focused on emerging affluent clients who will progress in their wealth journey with us and form the pipeline of future affluent clients.

 

We’re a leading wealth manager in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and our deep local presence and international network enables us to capture the strong structural tailwinds which are driving cross-border wealth flows. Our comprehensive product propositions span across deposits, payments, financing, advisory, investments and bancassurance.

 

We’re investing USD $1.5 billion in our Affluent banking business. Our investment focuses on affluent frontline teams, wealth and digital platforms, and client centres, as well as brand and marketing, to drive growth. You’ll join a growing franchise within Standard Chartered Group.

What you’ll be doing

 

When you join us as a Priority Banking Apprentice, you’ll join one of the following three teams: 

Onshore Priority - Frontline Support 

This team supports our Priority Relationship Managers. Gain first-hand exposure to the dynamic world of relationship management and experience what it takes to succeed in a client-facing role. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining insights into how client relationships are built, nurtured, and strengthened over time. The role involves areas in sales support, portfolio management, client management and compliance/operational risk. 

Segment Proposition 

The Segment Proposition Team is responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing the bank’s value proposition for Personal and Affluent client segments. This team ensures the bank delivers a differentiated and compelling suite of products, services, and experiences tailored to meet the financial and lifestyle needs of mass, mass affluent and high net-worth clients. 

Onshore Central Team 

As part of our Onshore Central Team, you’ll gain first-hand exposure on management reporting, performance analytics and operational coordination. You will work alongside experienced professionals and learn how data and insights drive business results. This experience will help you develop a strong foundation in analytics, communication and stakeholder engagement, which will prepare you well for future opportunities in business management, or client-facing roles such as Relationship Manager.

About the Apprenticeship Programme 

During this learning journey, you will embark on two 6-month long rotations. You will be exposed to different projects and tasks, alongside structured training, mentorship and on-the-job learning. Through the programme, you’ll experience an incredible and varied global learning experience, which include:

Eligibility 

We welcome graduates from all Polytechnic Diploma disciplines with less than 2 years of working experience. You’ll also have:

 

  • The permanent legal right to work in Singapore
  • A keen interest in the Banking and Finance industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A high level of organisation, attention to detail and personal accountability
  • A strong sense of ownership, adaptability and teamwork
  • Able to manage queries with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement.
