Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Product Owner is responsible for setting the product vision, operating standards, design principals and mobilisation of Product Owners and scrum teams to deliver against the overall product vision. The product owner is responsible to deliver maximum value to the benefit of the end user and ensure business objectives are achieved.
 
•    The Product Owner for Markets Trade Lifecycle is responsible for all deliveries on their product including solution design and delivery ownership to enable Financial Markets Trade Lifecycle Capabilities such as Trade Capture & Amendment, Lifecycle, Trade Controls, Bulk Trade Events etc.
•    The product owner evaluates the work generated by one or more product Scrum teams in order to ensure ‘best in class’ features and functionality of the product in alignment with business outcomes and strategy.
•    Work closely with key stakeholders in Middle Office/ Trade Control / Global Process Owners & Process Owners, COO, other Chief Product Owners and the business to create and maintain product backlogs according to business value or ROI
•    Ensure that the scrum teams always have an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on by ensuring that product backlogs are groomed frequently and prioritised effectively
•    Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
•    Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities across multiple products
•    Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
•    Lead the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
•    Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
•    Research and analyse market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
•    Follow our competitors and emerging technology in the industry
•    Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trend
•    Work closely with the scrum team throughout the development process clarifying requirements and providing design input to ensure goals are achieved

•    Role holder will be execution of the strategy and identifying opportunities for streamline the operational processes through automation, OPEX and other initiatives.
•    Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of operations and drive standardisation agenda, maintaining rigorous cost and investment discipline across the business.
•    Ensure appropriate and insightful data and analytics that can drive business decisions.
•    Maintain strong stakeholder engagement

Processes
•    Drive Process efficiency and scalability by design agenda for Trade Lifecycle and Control in partnership with Global Process Owners.
•    Simplify Product Onboarding process and decrease time to market.

People & Talent
•    Demonstrate and act as a role model of the Group’s values and culture in the region,
•    Support change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement,
•    To work on improvement of productivity and standardize the process from time to time to meet the necessary regulation/procedures/guidelines prescribed by Company/Group from time to time.

Risk Management
•    Sharing themes / lessons learnt from other hive implementations either within other domains within CCIB and T&O,
•    Risk control and governance: ensuring oversight and driving improvement in the control & resilience agenda,
•    Understanding the end-to-end view across to effectively identify, and escalate issues ahead of implementations,
•    Upholding the values of the Group and Company always,
•    Compliance with all applicable rules/regulations of company and Group Policies,
•    To take necessary tests and training as per Group and Company Requirements,
•    To ensure that administrative control procedures are followed by staff under supervision and escalate as per procedure.

Governance
•    Attend key governance meetings and Refinement Forums, Product Review committees in line with the governance framework and monitor projects over their lifecycle,
•    Develop Key Performance & Risk based metrics which enable Operations to demonstrate effective governance and oversight on processes, develop robust ORF (Operational Risk framework) for effective and smooth functioning of business and operations.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    8 years of experience in the financial services industry
•    Experience in product owner role or equivalent role in the industry preferred
•    Strong knowledge of capital markets products and e2e lifecycle activities and controls
•    Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process
•    Excellent interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
•    Excellent Technical skills and awareness of SCB system stack and architecture
•    In-depth understanding of industry market conditions and trends
•    Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
•    Successful track record of developing products within deadlines
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Creative and innovative thinker
•    Be detail-oriented and have problem-solving skills.
